The founder and director of the nonprofit organization “Muryango” is Tindyebwa Agaba Wise. The charity assists Africans seeking asylum and refugees by helping them with financial advice and interview preparation. The British actress Emma Thompson, who met Tindyebwa at the “Refugee Council,” adopted him. Tindyebwa is most recognized for this. After being abducted by the militia, Tindyebwa was made to serve as a child soldier in Rwanda until fleeing to the United Kingdom. When Tindyebwa was noticed by the Oscar-winning actress, his luck changed. At the moment, he works as a human rights activist and lives in London. His goal in life is to become a politician to improve society.

Early Life & Childhood

Rwandan village was the birthplace of Tindyebwa Agaba. To provide for Tindyebwa and his three sisters, his father was a farmer on tea plantations. After their father died of AIDS, Tindyebwa and his sisters’ life took a terrible turn. Tindyebwa and his sisters were compelled to abandon their education following the death of their father. Thankfully, their mother was able to convince “Care International,” a non-governmental group, to assume custody of her children. However, the group closed after Tindyebwa turned ten.

All Tindyebwa could do was go back to his hometown with his sisters. Regretfully, the state of affairs in his nation had gotten worse to the point where the militia was abducting young people in his age group. Tindyebwa and his sisters soon discovered themselves in the hands of the militia, who abducted them to convert them into warriors. Tindyebwa was compelled to travel with a group of guys after they were forced to cross the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s border, while his sisters were forced to go with a group that was exclusively made up of females. Tindyebwa was immediately converted into a kid soldier and made to defend the government with firearms. After being a child soldier in the camp for several days, Tindyebwa was able to escape, even though one of the boys who was attempting to flee with him was shot down. The police then took Tindyebwa into custody, where he remained for around 13 months until he broke free after a fight with a prison officer. After that, he returned to Uganda, where he was discovered by a “Care International” staffer. Tindyebwa was shipped to the United Kingdom, home of “Care International’s” parent organization. But even after arriving in London, Tindyebwa had to endure hardships for several days before being discovered by the “Refugee Council” officials.

The Adoption of Thompson

At the “Refugee Council,” Emma Thompson ran across Tindyebwa and extended an invitation for him to spend Christmas with her and her family. Unaware of Thompson’s celebrity position, Tindyebwa was hesitant to accept her offer since, following his ordeal, he couldn’t trust anyone. However, Thompson persisted in trying to win his trust and eventually succeeded. Tindyebwa grew accustomed to spending time with Thompson and her family throughout the following few months. To the extent that he began to reside in her house. After several IVF rounds and still not being able to conceive, Emma Thompson decided to adopt Tindyebwa. After that, he enrolled in “The University of Exeter,” where he eventually earned a degree in international relations and politics. Before finishing a Human Rights Law Fellowship, he went on to earn a master’s degree in human rights law from “SOAS University of London.” Following his graduation, Tindyebwa began volunteering for some nonprofits and humanitarian causes. Right now, he is dedicated to improving the lives of refugees and asylum seekers.
