Mary Enrique Bacay Gil V is a Filipino actor, singer, and dancer who won the “RAWR” award for his performance as “Alexander ‘Xander’ Grande III” in the television series “Forevermore.” Among many others, Budoy, She’s The One, Muling Bukson Ang Puso, Dukot, and Dolce Amore are some of his other well-liked movies and TV shows. He was raised in Cebu City, Philippines, where he was born. After finishing high school, he enrolled in college to study information technology, but he left early to pursue acting and modeling. Early Childhood & Life

Gil was born on March 30, 1992, to Barbara Anne Bacay and Enrique Amadeo Gil III in Cebu City, Philippines. His mother is of Filipino, German, and Spanish ancestry, and his father was Spanish, therefore he is of mixed descent. In 2008, his father succumbed to cancer. He is the second of the trio of kids. He has a younger sister named Diandra Frances (Andie) and an elder brother named Enrique Javier (Javy). His parents were flight attendants for “Philippine Airlines.”

He finished basic school at the Montessori De Manila in the BF Executive Village in Las Pias and went to the Manresa School in Paraaque for secondary education. Gil enrolled ‘San Beda College,’ Alabang, after finishing high school in 2008 to study information technology. He left school, though, in order to pursue his acting goal. Paul Salas and Dingdong Dantes, two Filipino entertainers, are related to him.

In addition to his demanding profession, Gil is currently enrolled in the Pearson HND Program for Business Management, which will help him get a top-up degree from the UK’s De Montfort University.

Gil joined ‘Trumpets,’ a center for commercial modeling and musical theater training, in the summer of 2008. At first, he was given tasks to appear in TV ads as a model. His ‘Lewis & Pearl’s’ commercial with actor Coleen Garcia caught people’s attention. In the drama series “I Love Betty La Fea,” he also made an appearance as one of the eco-models. The ‘ABS-CBN’ channel invited him to workshops run by them. Later, he was given the opportunity to portray “Harold” in the action-drama series “Pieta” on “ABS-CBN” (2008–2009).

Gil was convinced by his mother to attend an audition for the sitcom “George and Cecil” around this time, and he was subsequently cast in the show. Later, in the independent movie “Pitas,” (2010), he played the part of Kristel Moreno’s brother.

He played “Troy Cabrera” in the 2011 teen dance-musical drama “Good Vibes.” He collaborated with newcomers Julia Montes and Kathryn Bernardo on the 2011 Star Cinema film “Way Back Home.” In the 2011 television drama series “Budoy,” he played the character “BJ Maniego.”

Gil co-starred as “Dasho Jao Rinpoche” alongside Kathryn Bernardo in the teen TV drama “Princess and I” from 2012. He also appeared in “The Reunion,” a young romantic comedy, and “Amorosa,” his first horror movie, both in the same year. He won the ‘Most Promising Male Star of the Year’ honor at the ’45th Box Office Entertainment Awards of GMMSF’ on May 18, 2014. Throughout 2016 to 2018, he has received a number of “GMMS Foundation” prizes.
