Thomas Sadoski is an American actor who has been on stage, screen, and in television. He is best known for his roles in the television series “The Newsroom” and “Life in Pieces.” Graduate of the Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York, Sadoski made his Broadway debut with “Reckless” before making his professional stage debut with the critically praised production “This is Our Youth.” He was nominated for various awards, including the Tony Award for Best Actor for his exceptional work in the play “Reasons to be Pretty,” and he also won the Obie Award and the Lucille Lortel Award for his outstanding work in the play “Other Desert Cities.” He has starred in movies like “Wild” and “John Wick: Chapter 2” as well as TV shows like “The Newsroom” and “The Slap.” He is the narrator of Stephen King’s novella “Mile 81,” which is available as an audiobook.

Early Childhood & Life

Thomas Sadoski grew up in College Station, Texas, after being born in New Haven, Connecticut, on July 1, 1976. He is of Italian and German ancestry from his mother’s side and of English, Swedish, and Polish ancestry from his father.
He attended the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, for one academic semester. He received his diploma from the “Circle in the Square Theatre School,” which is connected to the Broadway theater in midtown Manhattan, in 1998.

In the Off-Broadway production of American playwright and filmmaker Kenneth Lonergan’s critically acclaimed play, “This is Our Youth,” at the Second Stage Theatre, he made his stage debut in 1998 as an understudy for the parts of Dennis Ziegler and Warren Straub.

He played Randy Hastings in the 1999 off-Broadway revival of “Gemini” by Second Stage Theatre, which ended after fourteen performances. The plays “The Hot l Baltimore” (2000), “The Skin of Our Teeth” (2000), and “Street Scene” (2001) were performed at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Williamstown, Massachusetts. He provided the narration for Stephen King’s novella “Mile 81,” which was published as an audiobook in January 2011. Among Sadoski’s other voiceover projects are the radio play “Reasons to be pretty” (2013) and the 2016 audiobook “Zero K” by “Don DeLillo.”

On January 13, 2011, he had an appearance as Trip Wyeth in the Off-Broadway production of Jon Robin Baitz’s play “Other Desert Cities.” The ‘Outer Critics Circle’ recognized it as the ‘Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play.’
On November 3, 2011, the Booth Theatre hosted the Broadway transfer of “Other Desert Cities.” The play was one of the 2012 “Pulitzer Prize for Drama” nominees. Sadoski won the “Obie Award” for “Distinguished Performance by an Actor” and the “Lucille Lortel Award” for “Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play” earlier in 2011.

He portrayed Don Keefer in the 2011 season of the political drama series “The Newsroom.” It is regarded as one of his most outstanding performances. The HBO television show debuted on June 24, 2012, and continued for three seasons and a total of 25 episodes until December 14, 2014.
