One of Hollywood’s most promising young performers of his generation has emerged as Tom Welling. He gained notoriety after playing “Clark Kent” in the television series “Smallville,” earning him the moniker “TV lands newest heartthrob.” Tom was a manual laborer in the construction industry before a modeling agent saw him at a party. He then modeled for Tommy Hilfiger, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Calvin Klein. After a brief experience in modeling, he realized it was not a reliable source of money and relocated to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. He then participated in various screen tests and auditions and appeared in a number of TV commercials, including those for T.J. Maxx, 7-Up, and Verizon. Following an audition, he was offered a part in “Judging Amy,” which aided in his career development as a television actor. Additionally, he made appearances in the sitcoms Special Unit 2 and Undeclared as well as the film The Fog. He starred in his first major motion picture as Steve Martin’s gorgeous son in the American comedy “Cheaper by the Dozen” and its sequel, “Cheaper by the Dozen 2.”
