Tamron Hall is an award-winning African-American journalist who has teamed up with Weinstein Television to launch a regular daytime talk program in 2018. This broadcast journalist, who has over 25 years of television experience, will host and executive produce the chat show (yet to be titled), as well as handle additional Weinstein Television programming. Childhood and Adolescence
Tamron Hall was born in Luling, Texas, on September 16, 1970. Her mother Mary Newton and stepfather Clarence Newton Sr. raised her. “I was born to a different father,” Tamron explained in an interview. “But God brought in my stepfather, who should have been my father.”
Her stepfather, who spent most of his adult life in the military, instilled in her a sense of order and discipline, as well as encouraged her to pursue a career as a journalist.

Tamron Hall began her broadcasting career as a general assignment reporter for KBTX in Bryan, Texas. Later, she moved to KTVT, a CBS-owned and operated television station in Fort Worth, Texas, serving the Dallas market.
She joined WFLD-TV, a Fox-owned and operated television station in Chicago, Illinois, in 1997, and as a former Chicago native, she reported on local politics.

In February 2017, Hall resigned from NBC News and MSNBC. She was informed that she would no longer be a co-anchor on ‘Today,’ according to reports.
Her show would be shortened by one hour to make way for a new daytime chat show. According to reports, NBC gave her a “substantial financial inducement” to stay with the network, but she declined.
She linked up with Harvey Weinstein, founder of The Weinstein Firm and co-founder of Miramax, a film and television production company, in July of 2017. Her new role has multiple facets: she will host and executive produce her own daytime chat show, which will be called in the near future.

She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, which has accused NBC of “whitewashing” by canceling Hall’s show and replacing it with a new show hosted by former Fox News personality Megyn Kelly.

She hopes to establish a Public Schools Association to raise awareness about emotionally and physically abusive relationships among teenagers in schools. She raises money for Day One New York, Inc., an organization that fights dating abuse. They’ve raised nearly $40,000 thus far.
