Jinxx, or Jeremy Miles Ferguson, is an American musician, songwriter, and composer who is now involved with the rock band ‘Black Veil Brides.’ Music came calling early for this multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles. When he was two years old, his half-brother Travis taught him how to play the guitar, and when he was eight, he gave his first on-stage performance alongside his father. After performing in the bands ‘The Drastics,’ ‘Amen,’ and ‘The Dreaming,’ he joined ‘Black Veil Brides’ in 2009. On July 20, 2010, BVB published their first studio album, ‘We Stitch These Wounds.’ The album debuted at number one on the Billboard Independent Albums chart. Jinxx and his band published their first and only EP, ‘Rebels,’ in 2011. In 2012, he and fellow band member Jake Pitts were named best guitarists at the ‘Revolver’s Golden Gods Awards.’ In 2012, he starred in the film ‘Legion of the Black,’ which was based on the band’s third studio album, ‘Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones.’

The Career of Jinxx

Ferguson’s schooling had not been a pleasant experience for him. He was ostracized cruelly for playing the violin in front of his classmates, as it was thought to be a girly instrument.

He’d often hide after school to avoid being beaten or having stones thrown at him. Despite this, his musical side flourished during his adolescence.

He became interested in classical music and taught himself Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata.’ He also learned to play the cello and the piano.

Jinxx was a member of the Los Angeles-based band ‘Amen’ in 2005. He joined Christopher Hall’s ‘The Dreaming’ in the same year. The band’s debut studio album, ‘Etched in Blood,’ was released in 2008 on the Dream Corpse label.

He quit in 2009 after being contacted by Andy Biersack, who informed him that his Cincinnati-based band, ‘Black Veil Brides,’ was reviving.

Biersack (lead vocalist), Pitts (lead guitarist), Jinxx (rhythm guitarist, violinist, and back-up vocalist), Ashley Purdy (bassist and background vocalist), and Christian “CC” Coma make up the current lineup of the band (drummer).

The band is primarily influenced by the style and sound of 1980s glam metal artists such as ‘KISS’ and ‘Mötley Crüe,’ with their fondness for thick makeup, body paint, and tight black studded attire.

‘We Stitch These Wounds,’ their debut studio album, sold 10,000 copies in its first week of release. It was released on ‘Standby Records,’ and it was the band’s last album to feature Sandra Alvarenga on drums, as she departed the band shortly after and went on to join ‘Modern Day Escape.’

Jinxx and his band went on the ‘Pins and Needles Tour’ with ‘The Birthday Massacre’ in November 2009. They supported ‘Murderdolls’ on their ‘God Save The Scream Tour’ in 2011.

‘Set the World on Fire,’ the band’s second studio album, was released on June 14, 2011, by ‘Lava Records’ and ‘Universal Republic Records.’ The album’s title tune was used on the soundtrack for ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Moon,’ and was the official theme music for WWE’s ‘Hell in the Cell’ pay-per-view event in 2011.

The music video for the album’s fifth single, ‘Rebel Love Song,’ was named ‘Alternative Press’s Music Video of the Year’ in 2011. On December 13, 2011, the band released their sole ‘EP’ on iTunes. ‘Coffin,’ ‘Rebel Yell,’ and ‘Unholy’ were all original tracks.

Their song ‘Unbroken’ was included in the soundtrack for ‘Avengers Assemble,’ which was released on May 1, 2012, by Hollywood/Marvel Records.

On January 8, 2013, the rock concept album ‘Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones’ was published. Its lead single, ‘In the End,’ was chosen as one of the theme songs for the 2013 film ‘Hell in the Cell,’ and was also included in the EA Sports’ NHL 14′ video game soundtrack.

It also earned the band two ‘Golden Gods’ nominations.
The band released their self-titled fourth studio album on October 27, 2014. It charted at #20 on the Billboard 200. In 2014, Jinxx and the others headlined the ‘The Black Mass’ tour.

‘Alive and Burning,’ their debut live DVD, topped the ‘Soundscan Music DVD list’ in 2015. On December 21, 2016, the band released the first single from their upcoming fifth album, ‘The Outsider.’

Jinxx was also a member of the ‘Team Cybergeist’ collaborative music project.
