Baekhyun is a young singer and actor from South Korea. He is a part of the Chinese-South Korean boy band “Exo.” When he was eleven years old, he began taking music classes, greatly influenced by South Korean singer and music producer Jung Ji-hoon. While in school, he played in the band “Honsusangtae.” After an audition, he was later signed to “SM Entertainment” and made the lead vocals of “Exo.” Together with his “Exo” colleague Suho, Baekhyun hosted the “SBS” program “Inkigayo” on a regular basis for a year. Childhood & Formative Years
On May 6, 1992, Byun Baek-hyun was born in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Byun Baek-beom is the name of his older brother.
At the age of eleven, he began taking music lessons, greatly influenced by South Korean singer, actor, and music producer Jung Ji-hoon, better known as “Rain.” Kim Hyun-woo, a musician from the South Korean rock group “DickPunks,” taught him how to play the piano.
He was the lead singer of the band “Honsusangtae” and attended Bucheon’s “Jungwon High School.” In his school days, the band won a local music festival. While he was getting ready for the admission tests for the Seoul Institute of the Arts, he was noticed by “SM Entertainment.” Following an audition, he joined “SM Entertainment” in 2011.
Career of Baekhyun
In January 2012, he joined the South Korean-Chinese boy band “Exo” as their ninth member, taking on the role of lead singer. The band quickly became well-known, and Baekhyun benefited from this.
In 2014, he and his “Exo” companion Suho started hosting the “SBS” program “Inkigayo” on a regular basis. He left the show at the conclusion of the year to focus on his band.
He debuted in musical theater in July 2014 when he played “Don Lockwood” in the “Singin’ in the Rain” South Korean production, which was organized by “SM Culture & Contents.”

A dan 3 belt in the Korean martial art of Hapkido has been attained by Baekhyun. He owns a puppy named Mongryoung and he adores animals. He does not, however, enjoy being outside and would much rather play video games.
He participates in online cultural and artistic classes offered by “Kyung Hee Cyber University.”
