Early Youth & Life

David Higgins and Amy Diane Higgins welcomed Benjamin Edward Higgins into the world on March 23, 1983, in Warsaw, Indiana. His folks, who have been happily wed for more than 35 years, only have him. Football was his sport of choice in high school.

Later, between 2008 and 2012, he attended Indiana University, where he graduated from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) in Bloomington with a Master of Science in Business Administration and Management. He was a member of the Indiana chapter of Delta Upsilon and for a while held the position of vice president of external relations.

Become a Hero

In May 2015, Ben Higgins, who in his childhood had no trouble attracting women, made the decision to become famous on television by competing on the 11th season of “The Bachelorette,” which starred Kaitlyn Bristowe. Despite being a fan favorite, Bristowe failed to give him a rose in the eighth episode of the program. Higgins was devastated by the rejection, as was the entire Bachelor Nation.

On August 24, 2015, he was revealed as the new Bachelor during episode four of the first season of “Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise,” realizing the sadness among viewers of the show. The 20th season of “The Bachelor” gave him the chance to select his own partner. He had equal control over the female fans of Bachelor Nation and the show’s candidates.

He had the chance to interact with famous people while the program was being filmed, including rapper Ice Cube, comedian Kevin Hart, soccer players Alex Morgan and Kelley O’Hara, comedian Terry Fator, and basketball player Paul George of the Indiana Pacers. Additionally, he had the opportunity to travel to his native state of Indiana, Las Vegas, Nevada, Mexico City, and Pig Island in the Bahamas.

A career in the Field

Ben Higgins worked as the Jonah Club Fish Fry’s event manager for one year and three months in 2007–2008 while he was a student. Since May 2009, he had been the Warsaw Community Church’s intern for student ministries. He started working at the Bakers Youth Club in April 2011 as the marketing and fundraising coordinator, and he held that position for two years and four months.

In February 2017, he was appointed the company’s Vice President of Business Development, and he held the post for the remainder of the year. In October 2017, he helped co-found Helpful International LLC, where he now serves as president.

Ben Higgins’s Relationships

Although he appears on flashy reality TV dating programs, Ben Higgins is known to be a romantic who believes in true love. When he was a candidate on “The Bachelorette,” he was really excited to date Kaitlyn Bristowe and was devastated when she ended up choosing someone else.

After meeting Lauren Bushnell on the 20th season of “The Bachelor,” he proposed to her live on-air in 2016. Although she had moved in with him at his house in Denver, Colorado, she was having trouble avoiding Los Angeles. On May 15, 2017, they subsequently called off their engagement.

On the February 20, 2018 episode of “The Bachelor Winter Games,” he admitted that the breakup had devastated him for months and made it difficult for him to connect with women in real life or on TV. He felt like cheating on someone on the first date he went on after the split even though Lauren had moved on with Devin Antin. He is reportedly dating social media influencer Lindsey Duke, who was previously linked to Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles, though, according to recent reports.
