She was born in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, into a wealthy family. Charlotte attended the esteemed Teesside High School for her official schooling. She began her professional acting studies at LAMDA at a young age.
Later, she earned a degree in English and Linguistics from St. Cuthbert’s, Durham University, in 2003. Charlotte participated in a number of stage productions and musicals with the Durham Revue while she was a student.
