Career of ClickForTaz
Someone told Taz that going into law would be a wise choice because she didn’t know what she wanted to accomplish with her life. She received her law degree from Cardiff University in 2015. She thought that things would just sort of fall into place after she graduated. She would at last be aware of her life’s purpose. However, the reality was quite different from what was imagined. She came to the realization that she was not passionate about the law and that she could not see herself practicing for the rest of her life. She was unaware of her actual true passion at the moment, though. Consequently, she was left without any other choice.
She struggled for a time to decide between “the unknown path” and “the right path.” Following her trained path was the correct course of action. She was qualified already. The uncharted route was to take a break and work things out. For the latter, she would have to venture outside of her comfort zone and try new things. She was aware that this would be quite unstable, though. She comes from a household where it was always encouraged for her to say what her plans were for the future. She even used it to gauge her value. She has acknowledged that it scared her to go from that mindset to one in which her future was totally uncertain.
At first Taz had trouble. She believed that all of her sacrifices had been in vain. Eventually, a friend introduced her to spoken word poetry. She learned more about the topic after being intrigued by it. She found it very admirable how the poets channel their own feelings into something stronger and more memorable. She wrote her first poem one night when she was really depressed.
She showed it to her pals over the next few days before putting it online. For her, it completely altered everything. October 21, 2012, was Taz’s YouTube channel launch date. Posting date of the oldest video was November 4th of that year. She started sharing poetry in late 2015. “I Hate Myself,” “Depression,” “Fat,” “Expectations,” “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” “Existential Crisis,” “Anxiety,” and “I Got Help” are a some of the poetry she has published on YouTube.
When writing a poem, Taz often refers back to her early life experiences. Another significant moment in her life is the transitional phase, during which she was unsure about her career goals. Her poetry also touches on concerns of body image, social pressure, and mental health that plague the current generation.
In addition to making challenges and mukbang videos, she vlogs quite a bit. She set up a second vlogging channel in October 2015, although she hasn’t uploaded anything there as of now. She gave a speech at Munich, Germany’s TEDxTUM conference in February 2018.YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzTcXl-IGPQ
Personal & Family Life
On October 27, 1993, Taz was born in Cardiff, Wales. Other than being South Asians, not much is known about her family. Because of her difficult upbringing, she developed several insecurities that followed her into adulthood. She said in one of her videos that she always wanted to be white. It seems that she lacked a South Asian woman role model in popular culture to draw inspiration from. Consequently, instead of accepting many facets of her culture, she rejected them. She was informed again and time again, even as an adult, that white men predominate in the legal profession when she pursued her legal degree. Although there are some women in the field, they are primarily Caucasian. As she grew older, she became more knowledgeable about racism and worked to break down the obstacles to her own self-perception.YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K340L4WlPp0
