Abbott and De Niro rented a condo in Bel Air for some time. They had multiple canines and were frequently visited by industry colleagues. According to the New York Times, when they vacated the condo, their landlord sued them for $10,000 in damages caused by their canines. In 1988, they eventually divorced. Since then, De Niro has wed his second wife, Grace Hightower. Through Drena and Raphael, Abbott has four grandchildren; one through Drena and three through Raphael.
