Infancy & Early Years

June 6, 1989, saw the birth of Dina and Toosy, her twin sister, in Cairo, Egypt. Donia Torkia is her true name, and she is half Egyptian and half English. Her brothers are Yoosuf and Hassan. At first, Dina went by “Noor.” Her mother was an English teacher at the same elementary school where she attended. When Dina was 7 years old, her family relocated to London. After working for a corporation in Egypt, her father moved to London and started his own business. There, he established a commercial company and sold Egyptian goods to Londoners enthralled by Egypt’s unique allure. ‘Horsenden Primary School’ was Dina’s school in Greenford, UK. She used to play rugby and football before starting to wear the “hijab.”

Dina began writing fashion blogs concurrently, which subsequently aided in the development of her career as a fashion blogger.

After that, Dina enrolled at Cardiff University, where she studied Islamic and Hebrew studies. One year later, she left. She quickly returned to working at call centers. Dina returned to school and enrolled in the English teaching program, which teaches the language to non-native speakers. Amid the course, she veered off.

It was at the university that Dina met her husband, Sid Kaan. He would assist Dina in her endeavors. Sid creates graphics.
