Eric Anthony Arndt, an American professional wrestler who is currently the WWE Cruiserweight Champion and is in the midst of his second reign, goes by the ring name Enzo Amore. His first reign as champion came to an end after a 15-day run after he was defeated by Kalisto, who had been introduced as the newest cruiserweight to take on him after he demonstrated that, in accordance with the terms of his contract, any cruiserweight who touched him would forfeit their chances to win the title. Enzo originally shared a successful relationship with Colin Cassady, with whom he won numerous matches and shared the title of “Tag Team of the Year.” But when a fight broke out because Cass turned on him and the two parted ways. He declares himself to be certified G and the realest guy in the room, and he says he is come to revolutionize sports entertainment. For the past three years, Amore has appeared on CFO$’s entrance theme, “SAWFT is a Sin,” where he refers to his opponents as “sawft.”
Early Childhood & Life
Enzo Amore was raised in Waldwick, New Jersey, and was born on December 8, 1986, in Hackensack, New Jersey. He went to Julia A. Traphagen School, Crescent School, and Waldwick High School in Waldwick.
He participated in school football. At Division III (NCAA) Salisbury University, where he played linebacker and safety for the Sea Gulls from 2007 to 2009, he later continued his football career.
He earned a journalism degree from Salisbury University. He held a variety of odd jobs before beginning his career in wrestling, including as a piano mover, a ticket salesman for the New York Jets, and a manager at Hooters.
Amore, a WWE executive, began working out at Joe DeFranco’s gym in Wyckoff, New Jersey when he was 16 years old. He provided Triple H with a compilation film of himself working out and making a promo, which ultimately led to him being brought on to WWE in 2012 despite having no prior wrestling experience.
Career of Enzo Amore
On May 22, 2013, Eric Anthony made his professional wrestling debut in WWE’s NXT development program under the ring name Enzo Amore. He was easily defeated by opponent Mason Ryan, who was portrayed as a “heel” in the television commercials.
After the loss, he joined forces with Colin Cassady (Big Cass), whom he originally met while they played basketball together at the Cage of Manhattan, New York, about ten years ago. They began a rivalry with Mason Ryan, who they both previously lost to, and dubbed themselves “the realest people in the room.”
Despite the alliance, they lost their subsequent singles matches to Ryan, but they were successful in a handicap match. Amore and Cass were then promoted as the face of the feud with Alexander Rusev, Sylvester Lefort, and Scott Dawson that Ryan initiated after they had been defeated by Tons of Funk and Amore. On September 25, they competed in a gauntlet match for the “NXT Tag Team Championship,” winning over the teams of CJ Parker and Tyler Breeze and Rusev and Dawson, but losing to The Ascension.
Upon his return in June 2014, Amore, who was forced to take six months off after suffering a leg injury during training, defended Cass from an assault by Sylvester Lefort and Marcus Louis. Early in August 2014, the two competed in the “NXT Tag Team Championship” tournament, winning over Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger in the opening round before falling to The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch).
Amore issued a challenge to Lefort to a match in which the loser would be shaved bald later that month after Lefort and Louis surprised them and shaved a portion of his beard. At NXT TakeOver: Fatal 4-Way, Lefort and Louis lost to Amore and Cassady, but Lefort fled, leaving Louis to make restitution by removing his eyebrows and hair.
They formed a partnership with debutante Carmella in October 2014, and in March 2015, they started a conflict with NXT Tag Team Champions Blake and Murphy after insulting them while courting Carmella. The pair beat The Lucha Dragons on March 11 in a number one contender’s match to secure their title match against Blake and Murphy at “NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable,” which they lost due to interference from Alexa Bliss.
They unsuccessfully challenged Dash and Dawson for the NXT Tag Team Championship later that year at NXT TakeOver: London and Roadblock. On March 24, 2016, Enzo and Cass were able to defeat NXT Champions The Revival and Baron Corbin by partnering with Apollo Crews.
Amore and Cassady battled The Dudley Boyz in their RAW main-event debut before defeating The Ascension on SmackDown to advance as the top contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship. The Vaudevillains at Payback were their opponents in the finals, which ended in a no-contest when Amore sustained a real concussion. They had previously defeated the Dudley Boyz in the semifinals.
Amore and Cassady joined forces with John Cena in a six-man tag team match at Battleground, where they assisted Cena in defeating The Club after losing a fatal-four-way tag team match at Money in the Bank. Following their defeat by Team Smackdown in the 10-on-10 Survivor Series Tag Team Elimination match for Team Raw, they lost their ensuing rivalry with Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho at SummerSlam.
Amore and Cassady and Rusev and Jinder Mahal got into a fight in November 2016 after Lana set them up in a hotel room. Amore defeated Brock Lesnar in the 2017 Royal Rumble, and he and Cass also lost a fatal four-way ladder battle for the Raw Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 33.
The two partners split up in June 2017 after security footage showed that Big Cass had secretly attacked Amore while staging an attack on himself. Following the team’s dissolution and Cass’s shift to the dark side, Enzo challenged Cass and won.
On the August 22 episode of “205 Live,” Amore made his cruiserweight debut against champion Adrian Neville. On August 28, 2017, Amore defeated Noam Dar to get his first victory.
He defeated Neville in a contest for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at No Mercy on September 5, 2017, using a low blow to win and win his first WWE championship. He had to win a fatal five-way elimination match to earn the opportunity.
Following his heel turn by disparaging the cruiserweight class and hitting Neville with a crutch, Enzo Amore lost his championship to Kalisto in a lumberjack match. In his rematch at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, he once more used dubious strategies to win back the title. He then successfully defended the title against Kalisto at the Survivor Series Kick-off show.
