Fergie Olver is a well-known Canadian former game show host and sportscaster. This controversial host presented the Canadian game program “Just Like Mom” for children in the 1980s. Through question-and-answer sessions, the program’s objective was to determine which child and mother knew one another best. Fergie co-hosted the show with his wife, Catherine Swing, and one of their children introduced him. Emily and Alison, their children, also participated in the show. Critics and television viewers criticized Fergie for forcing minor females to give him kisses, despite the fact that it was legal in Canada. And if these young women rejected his “creepy advances,” he kissed them nevertheless. Some detractors referred to him as a “borderline pedophile” and others as a “pervert.” Even internet videos depicted Fergie going a bit too far while playing with children and kissing little girls despite their objections. He was also a baseball player and a sportsman. Later, he became a sports pundit and rose to prominence in this role. Fergie Olver was the dugout reporter for the ‘Toronto Blue Jays’ during the 1980s and early 1990s, covering their games for CTV, TSN, and BBS.
