American soccer player Joshua Thomas Sargent became the nation’s youngest scorer at the FIFA U-20 World Cup. He competes for Werder Bremen of the Bundesliga and the American men’s under-20 national soccer team. He attended a training camp for American U-14 athletes in 2013. Career of Josh Sargent

When Josh Sargent was younger, he represented Scott Gallagher Missouri, a U.S. Soccer Development Academy club based in St. Louis, Missouri. He performed magnificently during the 2016 Nike International Friendlies. After that, he continued to train with Sporting Kansas City in the summer of 2016. Additionally, because St. Louis resides in the Sporting Kansas City region, the MLS club acquired the player’s acquisition rights.

In October 2016, he participated in a weeklong training camp with Dutch club PSV Eindhoven. He was chosen to be a member of the 21-person team that will represent the United States in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2017. Sargent became the youngest American to score in a U20 World Cup during the encounter against Ecuador, where he scored twice and helped his side significantly to level the game. As one of the United States’ all-time leading scorer at the U-20 World Cup, Sargent joined the ranks of players like Jozy Altidore, Eddie Johnson, and Taylor Twellman on June 1, 2017, when he scored against New Zealand.
