Justin Bieber is a Canadian singer and songwriter who has swept the world of music. He has gone on to become one of the most talked about artists in recent times, for both good and bad reasons, since releasing his first album at the age of 15. Bieber was spotted on YouTube by a talent scout. Following the release of his hits from his debut EP, ‘My World,’ he became a huge sensation. With the release of his debut studio album, ‘My World 2.0,’ he maintained his rising reputation and continued to smash records with his subsequent albums, ‘Under the Mistletoe,’ ‘Believe,’ and ‘Purpose.’ He’s also released a couple of remix albums, two biographical concert films, and performed live on a number of TV shows. Several prizes have been bestowed upon the young artist, including a Grammy for Best Dance Recording. He’s as well-known for his previous romance with pop singer Selena Gomez as he is for his numerous celebrity hook-ups. He’s also had multiple run-ins with the authorities, ending in arrests for DUI and reckless driving on two occasions.

Childhood and Adolescence

Justin Drew Bieber was born in St Joseph’s Hospital in London, Ontario, on March 1, 1994. Patricia Mallette, his single mother, and Diane, his maternal grandmother, raised him in Stratford, Ontario. Although his parents never married, he maintained contact with his father, Jeremy Jack Bieber.

He went to Jeanne Sauvé Catholic School in Stratford, which is a French-language immersion school. He graduated with a 4.0 GPA from St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in 2012.

He was fascinated by music as a child and learnt to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. In 2007, a 12-year-old Bieber came in second place in a local singing competition in Stratford, performing Ne-“So Yo’s Sick” against trained vocalists.

His mother originally set up a YouTube account to show off her son’s talent to family and friends. She continued to post more videos of him singing covers of various R&B songs as his popularity on the channel grew.

Career of Justin Bieber

Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber’s future manager, came across one of his YouTube videos by chance while looking for another performer. He flew him to Atlanta, Georgia, right away and set up meetings with Usher Raymond and Justin Timberlake. He eventually joined with Raymond Braun Media Group in 2008, which is a joint venture between Braun and Usher.

Bieber’s debut single, “One Time,” was released to radio on May 18, 2009. Following its debut, the song reached No. 12 on the ‘Canadian Hot 100,’ and No. 17 on the ‘Billboard Hot 100.’

On November 17, 2009, he released his first EP, ‘My World,’ which was able to equal the success of his breakthrough song. ‘One Less Lonely Girl,’ ‘Love Me,’ and ‘Favorite Girl’ all scored in the top 40 of the ‘Billboard Hot 100.’

He appeared on television several times in late 2009 to promote his debut EP. He made live appearances on ‘The Today Show,’ ‘The Wendy Williams Show,’ ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ and ‘Good Morning America,’ as well as guest starring in an episode of ‘True Jackson, Vice President.’ He performed for US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House in December 2009.

On January 18, 2010, he released ‘Baby,’ the lead song from his debut studio album ‘My World 2.0,’ which became an instant international sensation. The album, which was published on March 19, 2010, entered the top ten charts in a number of countries, including Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, where it peaked at No. 1.
From Hartford, Connecticut, he began his first official headlining tour, the ‘My World Tour,’ on June 23, 2010. In November 2010, he released ‘My Worlds Acoustic,’ an acoustic remix album.

On February 11, 2011, a music documentary centered on the star’s life, ‘Justin Bieber: Never Say Never,’ was released, along with his second remix album, ‘Never Say Never – The Remixes.’ On November 1, 2011, he released the Christmas-themed album ‘Under the Mistletoe.’

On March 26, 2012, he released the first single off his third studio album, ‘Believe,’ titled ‘Boyfriend.’ On June 19, 2012, Island Records released the album. In September 2012, he began the ‘Believe Tour’ to promote the record.

In October 2013, he released ‘Justin Bieber’s Believe,’ a biographical concert film that is a sequel to ‘Never Say Never.’ In the weeks leading up to the film’s release, he released a new song every Monday for ten weeks. The single ‘What Do You Mean?’ from his fourth album, ‘Purpose,’ was released on August 28, 2015. It was his first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100, and he set a Guinness World Record for being the youngest male artist to debut at the top of the list. After Justin Timberlake, his following two singles, ‘Sorry’ and ‘Love Yourself,’ went to the top of the same chart, making him the first artist in a decade to do it.
