Brian Todd Collins is an American singer-songwriter, rapper, and record producer better known by his stage name ‘Kid Ink’ (previously ‘Rockstar’). Collins attended after-school music programs and began making beats at the age of 16 after being inspired by the music and work ethic of Pharrell Williams, Swizz Beatz, and Timbaland. Sean Kingston, Nipsey Hussle, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and others were among the artists he worked with on tunes. At the age of 22, he began rapping professionally. On February 1, 2010, he released his first official mixtape, named “World Tour.” ‘Hero,’ his first non-album single, was released in 2011. On June 12, 2012, he released his debut studio album, ‘Up & Away.’ On the ‘US Rap Albums’ list, it peaked at #2. His debut EP, ‘Almost Home,’ was released on May 28, 2013, and reached #4 on the same list. Career of Kid Ink

Kid Ink has made music that defies categorization and refuses to conform to any narrow categories since the beginning of his career. In 2009, he adopted the stage name ‘Rockstar,’ and the following year, he produced the mixtape ‘World Tour,’ which he distributed independently and solely to digital media channels. He signed to the ‘Tha Alumni Group label’ after the mixtape’s success. In 2010, he went by the alias ‘Kid Ink,’ and to commemorate the event, he released his second mixtape, ‘Crash Landing.’ In June of that year, he released his third mixtape, ‘Daydreamer,’ which featured original productions from Lex Luger, Tha Bizness, and Jahlil Beats, as well as his fourth, ‘Wheels Up,’ which featured Nipsey Hussle, Tyga, 2 Chainz, and Travis Porter.

Kid Ink performed the song live at the event, accompanied by Skylar Grey and Travis Barker.

On January 7, 2014, he released his second studio album, ‘My Own Lane.’ The album debuted at #1 on the ‘US Rap Albums’ list and #2 on the ‘US R&B/Hip-Hop’ chart. The album was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on February 9, 2016. The album’s lead song, ‘Show Me,’ which has a Chris Brown hook, was certified double Platinum. On August 26, 2014, he released his sixth mixtape, ‘4B’s’ (a collaboration with ‘Batgang’).

His third studio album, ‘Full Speed,’ was released on January 30, 2015, and was distributed by ‘Tha Alumni Music Group,’ ’88 Classic,’ and ‘RCA Records.’ It was supported by four singles: ‘Body Language’ (with Usher and Tinashe), ‘Hotel’ (containing Chris Brown), ‘Be Real’ (featuring Dej Loaf), and ‘Dolo’ (including Dej Loaf). It topped both the ‘US Rap Albums’ chart and the ‘US R&B/Hip-Hop’ chart (featuring R. Kelly). His second Platinum single, ‘Be Real,’ was released in 2007.

On Christmas Day of 2015, Kid Ink released his fourth and most recent studio album, ‘Summer in the Winter.’ Akon, Fetty Wap, and Bia were among the guests. On September 20, 2016, he released his eighth mixtape, named ‘RSS2’. Kid Ink’s only release in 2017 is the mixtape ‘7 Series,’ which includes the single ‘F with U,’ which features Ty Dolla $ign.
