Childhood and Adolescence
Joe Bryant and Pamela Cox Bryant welcomed him into the world on August 23, 1978, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Shaya and Sharia are his two older sisters. He grew up playing basketball and football and was a fan of the ‘Los Angeles Lakers’ and the ‘AC Milan’ football team. His family moved to Rieti, Italy, when he was six years old. His family moved back to Philadelphia in 1991, and Kobe enrolled at ‘Lower Merion High School.’
After 53 years, his commitment in basketball helped ‘Lower Merion High School’ win a state championship.

Bryant returned to the 2013-14 season after suffering serious injuries. The ‘Lakers’ did not make the playoffs that season for the first time since 2005. During the 2014-15 season, Bryant was also plagued by injuries.
He returned to the ‘Lakers’ for his 20th season after a brief rehabilitation, breaking John Stockton’s record for most seasons with the same franchise. Bryant became the oldest player to score 60 points in a game at the age of 37. ‘The Lakers,’ on the other hand, concluded the season with the worst record in franchise history.
Bryant announced his retirement on November 29, 2015, in a poem titled ‘Dear Basketball,’ in which he expressed his passion for the sport since his infancy. He also shared his admiration for his favorite team, the ‘Lakers,’ and thanked his supporters for supporting him as he progressed through the sport.
