The lone female on Lil Yachty’s “Sailing Team,” Kodie Shane is an American rapper and vocalist most known for her role in the group. Kodie was inspired to pursue music since several of her family members, including her father Danny C. Williams, were musicians. She began her career as a writer for the D. Clax and Matty P-run Greystone Park production facility in Atlanta. Coach K, whom Matty P introduced to Kodie’s work, later served as Kodie’s mentor. Coach K introduced her to American rapper and singer Lil Yachty, and it was the beginning of the two singers’ close friendship and successful cooperation. After the release of her debut EP, “Little Rocket,” and her first mixtape, “2060,” which gave birth to her first smash single, “Sad,” Kodie appeared on the song “All In,” which was featured on Yachty’s second, “Summer Songs 2”-titled commercial mixtape. She attracted greater notice thanks to her breakout verse, which increased the online streaming of her music. It increased her prominence and helped her sign a record deal with “Epic Records.” Kodie has also written songs like “Hold up,” “Start a Riot,” and “Drip on My Walk,” among other well-known compositions.

Kodie Williams was born on October 28, 1998, to parents Hop and Danny C. Williams in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States. Her grandfather gave her the name “Buffalo Bill” in honor of the American scout, bison hunter, and entertainer.

As a young child, her family moved to Chicago, Illinois. The Detroit-based male musical quartet “Rick, Ran & Dan” had her father as a member. Her mother is in charge of her professional career. Her older brother Lil Wop, a rapper also known as “The Wopster,” her aunt Cherrelle, an R&B singer best known for her hit song “I did not want to put you,” her sister Brandi, who continued to be a part of the American girl group “Blaque,” which charted from 1999 to 2004, and her younger sister.

Rapper “Famous Dex,” also referred to as “Black Migo Dex,” is her cousin. With so many musically talented people in his immediate environment, Kodi’s enthusiasm for music came extremely naturally. When she was just 13 years old, she made the decision to pursue music as a career.

She initially started out as a writer for the Greystone Park Atlanta production studio, which is overseen by Matty P and D. Clax. The music of Kodie was then played for Coach K by Matty P. Coach K, a prominent figure in Atlanta who represents the American rapper Gucci Mane and the hip-hop group “Migos,” gradually became Kodie’s mentor.

She went under the name “The Don,” taking her cue from the 2013 American romantic comedy-drama movie “Don Jon.” She eventually settled on the name Kodie Shane, though, when she signed the contract with Epic Records in 2015.
