Malcolm Ford is a vocalist and guitarist for the alternative/indie band ‘The Dough Rollers’. He is the son of the legendary American actor Harrison Ford and his second wife, the screenwriter Melissa Mathison. Due to the fact that his father is one of the most reclusive celebrities in Hollywood, Malcolm and his sister and half-brothers grew up out of the spotlight. He attended a school in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and was eager to pursue a vocation as a musician. Malcolm developed severe depression after his parents’ divorce in 2001, and by the time he turned 17, he was abusing narcotics. He eventually entered rehab to clean up his behavior and was successful in doing so. In 2008, he attracted media attention by beginning a relationship with Canadian model Jessica Stam. In 2008, Malcolm and his companion Jack Bryne formed The Dough Rollers and in 2010 released their self-titled debut album. Since then, they have released an additional album and an EP.

Malcolm Ford’s  profession

In 2008, Malcolm co-founded The Dough Rollers with Jack Byrne, the son of actors Gabriel Byrne and Ellen Barkin. In New York, they first met when Byrne was still in secondary school and Malcolm had just dropped out of college. Byrne taught Malcolm how to play the guitar, and Malcolm gave him marijuana in exchange. They bonded over their shared appreciation for cannabis, Call of Duty, and blues music.

The Dough Rollers began as a duo, but singer Julia Tepper eventually joined the ensemble. She encouraged the group to explore other musical genres. They released their self-titled debut album in 2010. This ten-track album exemplifies the group’s experimentation with country, bluegrass, and blues music. Tepper however departed shortly thereafter.

Their second album, ‘Someday Baby’, was published in 2011 and contains 12 tracks. In the years that followed, the band recruited drummer Kyle Olsen and bassist Josh Barocas and signed with the record label of American singer-songwriter Jack White, Third Man Records. The group released their debut EP, “Gone Baby Gone,” through Third Man Records in 2014.
