Moses Amadeus Farrow is a married family therapist who is Korean-American and a freelance photographer. He is one of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen’s two adoptive children. He was abandoned by his birth parents when he was a child and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. In 1980, Mia took him in at the age of two. In 1991, Allen, who had been dating Mia since later that year, legally adopted Moses. Allen started dating Soon-Yi Previn, another of Mia’s adopted kids, in 1991. The relationship between Allen and Mia was bitterly broken up as a result. Allen’s other adopted kid with Mia, Dylan Farrow, accused him of sexual assault in August 1992. Allen adamantly refuted the accusations, and ultimately the case was dismissed. Moses gave author Eric Lax his own account of the incidents, and Lax eventually published it in his book about Allen, “Start to Finish.” Moses claimed that Mia had mistreated him ever since he was a young child. Additionally, he refuted Dylan’s statements, asserting that Mia had given her instructions on how to accuse Allen of sexual abuse.

Childhood and Daily Life in the Farrow Family

Moses was born in Korea on January 27, 1978. He was abandoned in a phone booth, where he was later brought to an orphanage and has had cerebral palsy since he was a little boy. He was adopted by Mia Farrow, one of Hollywood’s most well-known actors at the time, when he was two years old, in 1980. Six other children have already been born to Mia, including three biological sons from her marriage to the composer André Previn, twins Matthew and Sascha, and Fletcher, as well as three adopted children, Lark Song Previn, Summer “Daisy” Song, and Soon-Yi Previn, all of the Vietnamese descent.

Mia and Woody Allen started dating in 1980 after she first met him in 1979. In 12 of his movies between 1982 and 1992, she was the lead. They attempted to have a biological child in 1984, but Mia’s attempts to conceive failed. Dylan Farrow was adopted by Mia in 1984 without Allen’s assistance. Dylan, however, assumed parenting responsibilities when he finally arrived to remain with Mia. On December 19, 1987, Satchel Farrow (later known as Ronan Farrow), their biological son, was born. Moses and Dylan were both adopted by Allen on December 19, 1987.

When Soon-Yi was 19 or 21 years old at the time, Mia found nude pictures of her in Allen’s house in January 1992. He was 57. When Mia questioned him, he said that the photos were actually taken the day before, almost two weeks after their initial encounter. After Mia and Allen broke up, Allen later said in a statement that he had loved Soon-Yi. Since then, they have been married and adopted two kids.

The majority of Moses’ formative years were spent in Mia’s home. He said in a conversation with Lax that his mother’s actions had fostered a situation “in which I felt the constant need to gain her trust and approval.” He recalled various instances from his early years in which his mother had abused him, yelled at him, or even smacked him. He soon developed more significant worry and angst. By that time, he had learned how to fight, run, or freeze, frequently choosing the latter two.

Mia claims that on August 4, 1992, Dylan informed her that Allen had sexually assaulted her earlier that day in their Connecticut home. After the incident was reported to the police, Allen sued Mia for Moses, Dylan, and Satchel’s custody. Although the authorities ultimately opted not to charge Allen with sexual molestation, he was not granted custody of any of the kids. Dylan reiterated her accusations of sexual molestation against Allen in a “New York Times” article from February 2014. Allen responded by restating his denial of the claim.

Starting from the end

Moses had already expressed his opinions on the subject, but they weren’t widely known until Lax’s book excerpts were published in the New York Times. He described Mia’s harsh interactions with him and the other kids and said that she had encouraged them—including Dylan—to criticize Allen. The Knopf Publishing Group released “Start to Finish: Woody Allen and the Art of Moviemaking” on October 3, 2017.

Mia remarked, “It’s heartbreaking and bewildering that [Moses] would make this up,” in response to Dylan’s description of Moses’ views as “insignificant.” He repaired his relationship with Allen and Soon-Yi after severing all links with his mother.
