A painter and artist from South Korea named Nakyung “Nikki” Park. Since 2003, she has been wed to American thespian Wesley Snipes. Snipes was charged with one count of conspiring to defraud the United States and one count of knowingly making or assisting in the making of a fake and fraudulent claim for payment against the United States on October 12, 2006. In addition, six counts of willful failure to submit federal income tax returns by the due dates and failure to file tax returns for the years 1999 through 2004 were brought against Snipes. He was ultimately found not guilty of the felony counts of conspiring to defraud the government and of filing a false claim with the government, but he was found guilty of the felony count of failing to file federal income tax returns. He was sentenced to three years in prison on April 24, 2008, and he started serving it on December 9, 2010. In the end, he was freed on April 2, 2013.
