Nick Hexum’s Career
As a youth, Nick Hexum, who was musically oriented from an early age, played in various local bands, including ‘The Eds,’ ‘The Extras,’ ‘Unity,’ and ‘The Right Profile.’ In 1988, he joined forces with a few like-minded individuals to form the band 311.
Eventually, he established his own record label, What Have You Records, with 311 titles. Before earning a contract with Capricorn Records in 1992, the group issued four EPs/albums titled “Unity,” “Hydroponic,” “Dammit,” and “Downstairs.”
