Peter Jones is a well-known British entrepreneur who has redefined the term “ambition” and demonstrated to the world that pure determination can conquer any impediment. He worked hard to realize his ambition of becoming a businessman, which he had had since boyhood. Starting modest, this entrepreneur progressed to higher goals, eventually establishing his own computer consulting business. Though the firm was successful enough to provide him with his own apartment and car, it soon ran into difficulties, and the young guy was compelled to close it down. This did not deter him, and the distinguished businessman went ahead and founded the ‘Phones International Group.’ This company performed exceptionally well, and it was recently recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in the country. His accomplishment has inspired so many people that he has featured on numerous popular television series, including ‘Dragon’s Den,’Tycoon,’ and ‘American Inventor,’ the latter of which he created himself. He is currently involved in a variety of businesses, including television, cuisine, and even publishing. Through the ‘Peter Jones Enterprise Academy,’ he also aims to assist young ambitious business students in achieving their goals in life.

Childhood and Adolescence

Peter Jones was born on March 18, 1966, in Berkshire, England, to a financially disadvantaged family. His father had a modest company, and Peter had wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps since he was a child. The little child attended a private school before enrolling at ‘Desborough College,’ a secondary education institution in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

He received his further education at the ‘Windsor Boys’ School,’ where he acquired an interest in both Economics and Tennis. He then sought John Woodward, an English instructor who also taught tennis in his spare time. Jones accepted a position at Woodward’s tennis coaching center, where he taught the game while also learning how to operate a company.

Career of Peter Jones

After passing the ‘Lawn Tennis Association’ tests, he quickly became an instructor at his own facility. He had built a computer manufacturing and sales company by the time he was in his twenties. Though the company was profitable for a while, it had to close owing to a lack of clients. Jones then opened a cocktail bar, but it didn’t perform well, and he was forced to sell his firm for a loss of £200,000. After losing all of his assets, he was forced to give up his home and automobile, as well as begin working for the corporation ‘Siemens Nixdorf.’

After working at ‘Siemens’ for a while, he swiftly rose through the corporate ranks. Jones regained his confidence and, in 1998, founded the ‘Phones International Group.’ In just two years, his new business grew to a turnover of £44 million. This growing business intended to supply all types of clients with mobile phone services. The supply route employed was termed ‘Single Brand Distribution,’ and it was rather easy.

‘Generation Telecom,’ a subsidiary enterprise, ‘Celsius,’ a recruiting consultant, and the web company ‘Wines4Business.com’ were all founded by the renowned entrepreneur between 2004 and 2008. In January 2005, Peter featured in ‘Dragon’s Den,’ a British TV show modeled on a Japanese show in which competitors compete to sell their clever company proposals to a panel of judges.

Jones bought businesswoman Rachel Elnaugh’s gifting solutions firm, ‘Red Letter Days,’ with businessman Theo Paphitis the same year. Another series, ‘American Investor,’ was shown in 2006 and was a collaboration between producers Simon Cowell, ‘FremantleMedia,’ and ‘Peter Jones Television.’ Jones appeared as one of the judges on this show, which aired on the ‘ABC’ network the next year. The wealthy businessman also developed ‘Tycoon,’ a television series that aired on the ‘ITV’ network in the same year.

The ‘Peter Jones Enterprise Academy’ was founded in 2009 with the goal of training young UK students to be great businesses. Manchester, Sheffield, Oxford, and Amersham are just a few of the campuses that make up the educational institution.

In January 2010, this outstanding entrepreneur participated in an episode of the show ‘Hustle,’ with businesspeople Deborah Meaden and Duncan Bannatyne. He has participated on television shows such as ‘Celebrity Juice,’ ‘James Corden’s World Cup Live,’ and ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks,’ all in the same year.

He has just replaced Gordon Ramsay, the former brand ambassador for telecoms giant ‘BT Business,’ and has appeared on series such as ‘The Magicians’ and ‘Top Gear.’ The sale of ‘Wireless Logic,’ a subsidiary of his ‘Phones International Group,’ earned this exceptional businessman £38 million in 2011. He became the CEO of the retailing company ‘Jessops Europe Limited’ two years later.

Jones’ most successful commercial initiative is the ‘Phones International Group’ of Major Works. The organization began with the intention of offering cell phone services to its customers. It went on to produce £44 million in revenue in two years, and ‘The Sunday Times’ named it one of the fastest growing businesses.
