Youth and Early Life

Pixie was born in Bromley, London, on January 12, 1991. She was raised alongside her brother and sister in Petts Wood and Bickley.
Her mother gave her the nickname Pixie because she was adorable and delicate when she was tiny. She participated in the choir at her elementary school.

Pixie was transferred to the Italia Conti Associates Saturday school in Chislehurst when she reached five years old. At age 11, she began her formal education at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. Pixie was a gifted student who received a scholarship.

Pixie quickly grew familiar with performing and theater arts. When her family moved to Brentwood, Essex, she was cast in the West End production of the musical “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.” The musical was presented at the Palladium in London.

The next month, on September 14, 2009, Pixie released her debut album, ‘Turn It Up,’ on which she had been working for the previous few months. The album reached number six on the UK Albums Chart and was certified Double Platinum after selling over one million copies worldwide.

Her third single from the album ‘Cry Me Out was released in the fall of 2009. This was also a great success.
Pixie was nominated for the BRIT Awards for her debut single in 2010. She won the majority of honors in the category of new music phenomenon of the year.

Gravity, the fourth single by Pixie, was released on March 8, 2010. Since she was already a celebrity at the time, she received numerous endorsement opportunities. She promoted the Illuvial Pink Collection of mobile phones from Nokia. This created a new image for Pixie as a fashionista. Pixie’s second significant television appearance was as a contestant on the dancing reality show “Strictly Come Dancing.” She was partnered with Australian professional dancer Trent Whiddon. The duo advanced to the quarterfinals but fell in the semifinals.
The next year, Pixie published “Platinum Pixie: Singles,” a compilation of all of her major hits.
