Early in her career, Sheikh transitioned from dance to acting, and in 2003, she made her film debut in the family drama “Baghban,” which starred Amitabh Bachchan. She appeared in the Tamil movie “Ponniyin Selvan” two years later (2005).
She made her television debut in the comedy “Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka” from Bajaj Telefilm in 2006, playing the part of “Nimmo.” Sheikh’s humorous screen presence was made with this performance. Along with humor, the character also included elements of drama and romance.

Sheikh attempted to demonstrate that she had been employed elsewhere on the day in issue in response to the FIR filed by Bagban.
