Travis Mills, a.k.a. “T. Mills,” is an American actor and recording artist. Travis was an athletic child who was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He played athletics for the majority of his school years. He had started to take his dream of being a musician more seriously by the time he turned 15. Travis’s love of music can be partially attributed to his uncle, who gave him a guitar when he was just five years old. Travis began penning his own songs and using computer software to create music after he graduated from high school. He began posting his works to “MySpace,” which provided him with a pre-sale ticket to stardom. Travis began putting out mixtapes under small labels before joining Columbia Records in 2011. He had previously released the studio album “Ready, Fire, Aim!” He put out a number of EPs and mixtapes, including “Leaving Home,” “All I Wanna Do,” and “Thrillionaire,” while he was working on his second studio album. In 2016, Travis made his acting debut in the Will Arnett-starring television series “Flaked.” In the comedy series “Alone Together,” he appeared in another supporting role in 2018.

Early Life & Childhood

T. Mills was born in Riverside, California, on April 12, 1989, as Travis Tatum Mills. At age five, he received a guitar as a gift from one of his uncles. Travis, who was impressionable at the time, became enthralled with it. And so he began studying to play the guitar. His proficiency on the guitar had greatly improved by the time he was a teenager.

Even while he enjoyed listening to music, pursuing a career in music wasn’t something he had planned to pursue while in school. Sports piqued his curiosity more. At the age of fourteen, he formed a punk-rock band with a few of his pals, which is when he underwent a transformation.

The amateur band used their homes’ basements as their jam sessions. They eventually arranged a couple of modest backyard concerts in addition to beginning to perform at neighborhood coffee shops. His band broke up by the time he received his degree from Riverside City College. Travis subsequently began performing on his own.

Using the “MacBook” software “GarageBand,” he began creating music. He composed his own tunes as well. He sung into his laptop and used the program to modify the sound since he could not afford a microphone at the time.

In an attempt to reach a wider audience, he created a “MySpace” account and began posting his music there. He kept writing and uploading music for the following three years. But he didn’t actually go to a recording studio until he was twenty years old.

Career

In 2008, Travis’s career took off after he was discovered by Uprising Records, an independent record company. Travis began working on the “Finders Keepers EP,” his first formal project, in 2009. He picked up some additional knowledge about making songs professionally thanks to the EP. He developed relationships with a few large record labels as a result of the EP’s local success.
Ready, Fire, Aim!, Travis’s debut studio album, was released in 2010 by “Uprising Records.” The CD was made available digitally and served as a springboard for Travis’s advancement into more lucrative and exciting professional endeavors.

After agreeing to a deal with Columbia Records in 2011, he quickly began work on his second studio album. Although the album took a while to complete, in July 2011 Travis dropped a mixtape called “Leaving Home.” The mixtape proved to be a commercial hit. After finishing the mixtape, Travis went on to work on his next project, an EP with the same name.

Travis originally released “Vans On,” the lead song from his EP, in December 2011. He next dropped “The Boom,” a promotional single. The EP was produced by a number of musicians, including “The Stereotypes” and Sir Nolan. Officially, January 2012 saw its release.
Travis’s popularity in the mainstream was largely due to the success of his mixtape and EP. Travis was a nominee for the “Best New Artist” MTVU’s Woodie Award.

He followed it up with the release of “Thrillionaire,” another mixtape. There were ten tracks on it, including collaborations with artists like Smoke DZA and “Audio Push.” Following the July 2012 release of the mixtape, three music videos—”Diemonds,” “Lightweight,” and “Other Bitch Callin”—were released. Travis soon declared that he was developing the “Thrillionaire” sequel.

Travis gave his fans an update on the status of his much-delayed second studio album at the beginning of 2013. Travis debuted a song called “Loud” in March 2013 and followed it up with the release of the accompanying music video. The second studio album, he said, was the source of the single and would be released in the second quarter of 2013.

Travis delved into more collaborative projects as his career flourished. He went on tour with the rock group “We the Kings” in June 2013. The official music video for Travis’s single “All I Wanna Do,” which was the first single from his upcoming EP, was released the following month.

Travis launched his brand-new EP, “All I Wanna Do,” in February 2014. Travis got preoccupied with the “All I Wanna Do” professional tour throughout the course of the following few months. His collaborations with more seasoned rappers were facilitated by the EP’s extraordinary success.

Travis renamed himself as “Travis Mills” instead of “T. Mills” on stage in 2015. Travis released the official music video for the song “Young & Stupid” in July 2015. The song featured T.I., a well-known rapper from America.

Travis declared the release of his new single, “Don’t Need Much,” in January 2016. By then, Travis had signed with Republic Records after leaving Columbia Records. On the day of its release, “SoundCloud” offered the song for free streaming.

Travis left Republic Records a few weeks later and secured a record contract with First Access Entertainment. Under the new label, Travis published his next EP, “While You Wait.” There were six tunes on the EP.

In addition to being a musician, Travis enjoys acting. In 2016, he made his acting debut in the comedic series “Flaked” on Netflix. Reactions to the show were divided among reviewers and viewers. Travis made an appearance in “Alone Together” in 2018.
