Jimena Navarrete Rosete is a Mexican model, actress, and beauty queen who rose to prominence after winning Miss Universe 2010. This stunning Latina was born into a middle-class family of two children and began modeling at the age of sixteen. Childhood and Adolescence

Jimena Navarrete Rosete was born on February 22, 1988, in Guadalajara, Mexico’s capital and largest city, to Carlos Navarrete and Rosete Riestra, as the eldest of two children in a middle-class family.
Her father works as a dentist, while her mother is a stay-at-home mom. Mariana, her younger sister, raised her in Guadalajara.
She studied nutrition at the Valle de Atemajac University in Zapopan, Mexico, before competing in the global beauty contest.

Career of Ximena Navarrete

When she was sixteen years old, Ximena entered the world of modeling in her hometown.
In 2009, she competed in the ‘Nuestra Belleza Jalisco’ beauty pageant, which selects the state’s beauty queen to represent it in Mexico’s national beauty pageant, ‘Nuestra Belleza México.’ Lorena Vila organized the pageant on a local level. On July 16, 2009, Ximena won the ‘Nuestra Belleza Jalisco’ title in Guadalajara, making her hometown proud.

She went on to compete for the national title of ‘Nuestra Belleza México’ that year after winning the state title. There were 34 contestants in the 16th edition of the beauty pageant, which took place on September 20, 2009 at the Centro de Convenciones Yucatán Siglo XXI in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico.

The stunning Ximena won the pageant, beating out 33 other contenders, and making history for Jalisco, which now has two back-to-back Nuestra Belleza México winners, the other state representative being the outgoing titleholder Karla Carrillo. After Nuevo Leon, Jalisco became the second state to do so.
She also received the Academic Award and the Fuller Beauty Queen award during the 16th annual Nuestra Belleza México pageant, among other special prizes.

She prepared for the big event, Miss Universe 2010, after winning her country crown. The 59th edition of the Miss Universe pageant, which took place on August 23, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, included a total of 83 candidates from their different countries, including Ximena.
Ximena was crowned Miss Universe 2010 by her predecessor Stefana Fernández of Venezuela at the event, which was televised on NBC and Telemund. She was the second Mexican beauty to win the title, the first being Lupita Jones, who did it nearly two decades ago in 1991.

On February 10, 2011, she was named a spokeswoman for the American apparel retailer ‘Old Navy’ and the French cosmetics firm ‘L’Oreal Paris.’ The following month, she competed in the Russian national final in Moscow and the Dominican Republic national final in Santo Domingo.

She worked in Panama to raise AIDS awareness and also traveled to Bangkok, Thailand, on March 26, 2011 to compete in the Thai national final. In May 2011, she returned to her hometown to raise awareness for the American humanitarian organization ‘Children International.’
She then traveled to Chile in July 2011 to compete in the Chilean national final, which was held in Santiago. On the 16th of same month, she traveled to the Bahamas’ Atlantis Paradise Island to assist in the crowning of Miss Teen USA.

She presented various prizes and events throughout the years, including the Latin Grammy Awards in 2010, América celebra a Chespiritoin in 2012, Nuestra Belleza México in 2012, Premios TVyNovelas in 2012, Latin Grammy Awards in 2013, and Nuestra Belleza México in 2014.

She appeared as herself in the TV shows ‘Décadas’ in 2010 and ‘Jalisco… Algo contigo’ in 2015, and she was one of the Miss Universe 2012 judges.
She studied film and television at the ‘Asian Academy of Film & Television’ in Noida, India.

In 2013, she made her acting debut in the Mexican telenovela ‘La tempestad,’ in which she co-starred with William Levy. Marina Reverte Artigas and Magdalena Reverte Artigas, two of the series’ main protagonists, were played by her in dual roles.
In 2015, she starred as Gaby in the telenovela ‘108 Costuras,’ in which she portrayed the lead role.
