Childhood and Adolescence

Yeon Woo-jin was born Kim Bong-hoe in Gangneung, Gangwon-Do, South Korea, on July 5, 1984. He spent his early years in Gangneung with his parents.

He went to Sejong University in South Korea to study Civil and Environmental Engineering after high school. He was more interested in fashion and show business, and while in college, he began modeling under the stage name ‘Seo Ji-hoo.’ When he moved on to act in television serials and films, he changed his stage name to Yeon Woo-jin.
