Zak studied the intricacies of filmmaking there. He had a strong passion for producing documentaries, so after graduating from MPI, he relocated to Las Vegas to pursue his aspirations.
He first had trouble. Before he sought to put together a cast and crew to shoot his debut documentary film, he worked multiple jobs to make ends meet and briefly worked as a wedding disc jockey.

He wasn’t convinced at first, but then something happened that altered everything. He claims that after having a near-death experience with the ghost of a suicide victim, nothing in his life has ever been the same. He made the decision to investigate the supernatural aspects of human existence in great detail after that, and he gathered a team to make a documentary-style movie called “Ghost Adventures.”

Zak Bagans’s Career

Zak began filming “Ghost Adventures” in 2004, with the intention of having it released as an independent film. However, the lack of funding and a number of other problems prevented the movie from being released. In 2006, 4Reel productions joined the project and made the decision to turn it into a documentary. Zak, Aaron Goodwin, and Nick Groff documented their experiences in and around Nevada’s eerie locations.

The documentary quickly gathered a sizable fan base after debuting on the Syfy channel in July 2007. At the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival, it also won the Grand Jury prize. The first season of the completely realized series debuted in December 2008, and with each passing season, it grew in popularity.

The documentary’s production team had their own ghostly encounters while they were filming. Zak says he got many scratch marks on his back while filming the fourth season as a consequence of a run-in with some “evil spirits.”
Many proponents of the paranormal have also attacked Zak and his crew for employing harsh tactics to expel the ‘evil spirits’. Zak responded by saying that not all spirits are subject to his team’s confrontational and abrasive strategies. They use it to awaken evil spirits that harm people.
