Youth and Early Life

Trippie Redd was born Michael Lamar White IV on June 18, 1999, in Canton, Ohio, to a troubled family. His father was incarcerated just prior to Michael’s birth. His mother was responsible for his upbringing and reared him as a single parent. Even though his mother worked diligently to make ends meet, she was unable to keep him off the streets, which were filled with criminals. Early on, he became involved in petty crimes and narcotics dealing.

His mother was an avid music aficionado who listened to a variety of contemporary rappers, including Beyoncé and Tupac. His home’s musical atmosphere inspired Trippie to become a musician. Over time, he idolized artists including Lil Wayne, KISS, Gucci Mane, and Nirvana. Trippie’s older brother was also passionate about pursuing a vocation in music. However, he subsequently died in a car accident, which proved to be Trippie’s biggest wake-up call. Soon thereafter, he began to take his musical vocation more seriously.

In 2014, when he was 15 years old, he began creating music and publishing it online. His early online releases included ‘New Ferrari’ and ‘Sub-Zero.’ While both tracks were popular in Ohio’s local clubs, Trippie was unsatisfied with them. He promptly removed them from the Internet. After graduating from high school, Trippie relocated to Atlanta. There, he met the rapper Lil Wop, and he experienced his first significant career breakthrough.

Trippie A Profession

Trippie had never even entered a professional recording studio prior to meeting Lil Wop. He was introduced to rap and music production by Wop. Together with another lyricist named Kodie Shane, they began collaborating. Soon thereafter, they produced quality work.

Among Trippie’s earliest albums were ‘Awakening my Inner Beast,’ ‘Beast Most,’ and ‘Rock the World Trippie.’ After the success of these endeavors, Trippie began to receive significantly better job offers and ultimately settled in Los Angeles. There, he signed a contract with ‘Strainge Entertainment,’ which is now called ‘Elliot Grainge Entertainment.’

This marked the start of Trippie’s music career. Soon thereafter, Trippie began creating his debut mixtape, ‘A Love Letter to You,’ which was published in May 2017. It is uncommon for a new artist to debut on the ‘Billboard 200’ chart, but Trippie’s mixtape debuted at number 64. The compilation was initially published on SoundCloud before being acquired by iTunes. The album’s single, ‘Love Scars,’ became a major success in nightclubs and on the radio. The ‘Recording Industry Association of America’ (RIAA) subsequently certified the single as platinum. Within a few months of its release, the single received over eight million YouTube views.

Soon after, Trippie began receiving proposals to appear on the albums of renowned rappers. He collaborated on ‘Fuck Love’ from XXXTentacion’s album ’17.’ The single was a huge success and debuted at number 28 on the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ chart. Then, Trippie began work on his subsequent mixtape, ‘A Love Letter to You 2,’ which was released in October 2017. Similar to his previous mixtape, this one was an instant hit. On the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ chart, the mixtape peaked at number 34. He collaborated with his mentor Lil Wop on the album ‘Angels & Demons’ in the same year.

As he progressed musically, more renowned artists approached him about collaborations. The collaboration between Trippie and Travis Scott resulted in the December 2017 release of the single “Dark Knight Dummo.” Trippie was the featured artist in the tune. The tune peaked at number 72 on the ‘Billboard Hot 100′ chart. It was the highest debut for a Trippie song featuring him as the main artist. By the end of the year, he released singles such as ’18’ and ‘TR666’. He worked with musicians including Rich Brian, Scott Storch, and Kris Wu.

In March of 2018, he verified he was working on his debut studio album and shocked everyone by announcing that Lil Wayne would appear on it. The ‘Life’s a Trip’ album was published in August of 2018. Trippie previously announced that his album would contain 26 tracks. However, the number of songs was later reduced to 16. The album featured collaborations with some of the industry’s most prominent figures, including Travis Scott, Diplo, and Young Thug. However, contrary to Trippie’s assertions, Lil Wayne was nowhere to be found on the list.

The album received poor reviews from critics. The album’s lack of a new sound and the fact that the majority of the tracks were too personal and repetitive were cited as the most common complaints. However, it also received some positive reviews claiming that Trippie was capable of creating a wonderful album. Despite its lackluster critical reception, the album debuted at number four on the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ chart.

Trippie Redd has engaged in numerous feuds throughout his career. His most notorious conflict was with the rapper 6ix9ine. According to Trippie, 6ix9ine is a pedophile. As a consequence, one of 6ix9ine’s men beat him up. Trippie then produced a live video as the conflict escalated. He had a minor dispute with XXXTentacion as well. However, the conflict was resolved shortly thereafter.
