In the late 1980s, Tommy Wiseau began attempting his luck in Hollywood. In 1994, he enrolled in the acting program of Vincent Chase and also took film courses at Los Angeles Community College. He directed the film “Robbery Doesn’t Pay” during this period. He obtained his Screen Actors Guild (SAG) certificate by producing, writing, directing, and starring in a commercial for his own company.

His film “The Room” was released in 2003. Based on an unpublished novel written by Wiseau himself, this film attracted considerable public interest.
