Tremaine Aldon Neverson, better known by his stage name Trey Songz, is a rapper, songwriter, record producer, and actor from the United States. He was reared as a military brat, and because he had no strong male influences in his childhood, he values his mother’s influence greatly, and immediately after becoming famous, he bought her a house. To counteract the negative impacts of fame and celebrity, he is always giving back to his society and assisting the underprivileged. During his childhood, he was quite shy and reclusive, but his friends and family prodded him out of his shell and urged him to pursue his dream of being a singer. They advised him to delete the words ‘Rap’ and ‘Croon’ in favor of ‘Tenor-Voice,’ which complemented his ‘tenor-voice.’ He signed up for a talent event after receiving regular interventions and support, and record producer Troy Taylor heard him and saw his potential. Following his graduation, he relocated to New Jersey to study under the former. Prior to the release of his debut album, he had the opportunity to work with and feature some of the industry’s biggest names, including Lil’ Kim, Trina, Snoop Dogg, Kevin Lyttle, and Trick Daddy. He moved on from albums to mixtapes, gigs, and collaborations. When he opened for Jay-Z on the latter’s ‘Fall-Tour’ in 2009, it was the biggest moment of his life. His career has established him as one of the few performers who has managed to sustain mainstream recognition.
