Stephanie Abrams is an American television meteorologist and host who currently serves as a co-host of The Weather Channel’s “America’s Morning Headquarters” (AMHQ) alongside Jim Cantore and Jen Carfagno. She gained widespread recognition for her live coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, earning praise for her on-location reporting and weather expertise. Abrams is an active member of both the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association (NWA), and is widely regarded as one of the leading television meteorologists in the United States. Career Stephanie Abrams
While studying at Florida State University (FSU), Stephanie Abrams gained her first broadcasting experience by working with FSU Live, the student-operated news and weather division of a Tallahassee cable television station. She officially launched her professional meteorology career in 2003 at WTXL, where she worked as a weather forecaster.
In 2005, Abrams became the co-host of “Weekend View.” A year later, she joined Mike Bettes as an on-camera meteorologist for “Abrams and Bettes: Beyond the Forecast.” The duo later reunited as co-hosts of “Weather Center,” further strengthening her reputation as a television meteorologist.
On July 20, 2009, Abrams began co-hosting “Wake Up With Al” alongside Al Roker on weekday mornings. During this period, she also made regular appearances with Sam Champion on “America’s Morning Headquarters” (AMHQ). During the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, she provided live reports with Al Roker for both AMHQ and “Wake Up With Al.” Whenever Roker was away, Abrams filled in for him from the network’s Rockefeller Center studios.
In 2012, she temporarily served as the weather reporter for “Weekend Today” after the departures of Janice Huff and Bill Karins. Between 2012 and 2013, she also co-hosted “On The Radar” for The Weather Channel. In 2014, Abrams made a cameo appearance in the television film “Sharknado 2: The Second One.” She also hosted “Morning Rush”—previously known as “Your Weather Today”—from 2009 to 2014.
