Lola Ponce is an actress, singer, songwriter, composer, and model from Argentina. She was born into a musical family and rose to prominence after the release of her debut album, ‘Inalcanzable,’ which made her a household name in Argentina and Latin America. She received critical acclaim for her performance as Esmeralda in the musical ‘Notre-Dame de Paris,’ which catapulted her to stardom in Italy. Childhood and Adolescence
Paola Fabiana Ponce was born in Capitán Bermdez, Santa Fe Province, near Rosario, Argentina, on June 25, 1977. Her father, Hector Ponce, is from Italy, and her mother, Mara, is from Spain.
Her grandpa, Osvaldo Fresedo, was a musician, as was her father. When she was three years old, her parents discovered her singing ability and powerful voice.
Claudia is her sister, while Alejandro is her brother. She started a musical partnership with her brother at the age of eight, performing folkloric tunes. Her brother went on to have a successful career as a musician, author, and music teacher.
She began singing at a lot of famous Latin American festivals as a child, and she continued throughout her adolescence. She enrolled at the University of Buenos Aires but dropped out to concentrate solely on her singing career.
Career as an actor
Lola Ponce auditioned as a singer for a local Buenos Aires channel’s casting and was cast as a double in the sitcom ‘De la nuca’ in 1997 after graduating from high school. Her acting career took off the next year when she performed in Cris Morena’s award-winning children’s musical ‘Chiquititas.’
In 2002, she relocated to Verona, Italy, to perform in Italian singer-songwriter Ricardo Cocciante’s musical “Notre-Dame de Paris.” She played Esmeralda in around 600 productions of the play until September 2008, when she decided to leave it.
She then appeared on Giorgio Panariello’s Italian television program “Ma il cielo è sempre più blu.” In 2004, she starred alongside Adrián Suar, Nancy Dupláa, and Nicolás Cabré in 10 episodes of the Argentine soap “Without Code.”
She made her film debut in 2009 with the film ‘Polvere.’ She co-hosted the ‘Mai Dire Grande Fratello Show’ with Mago Forest and participated in the miniseries ‘Butta the Moon 2’ in the same year.
In 2010, she returned to Argentina to compete in the show “Dancing for a Dream 2010.” In the same year, she starred in the modern opera ‘I promessi sposi’ and starred alongside Roberto Farnesi in the film ‘Colpo di flmine.’
During the year 2010, she played Jessica in the Italian telenovela ‘Le due facce dell’amore’ for six episodes. In Sergio Castellito’s film ‘La bellezza del somaro,’ she played the love interest of the Italian actor and director.
In the telenovela ‘El talisman,’ she played the villain Lucrecia Negrete, with her husband Aaron Diaz.
Career as a singer
Through photographer José Luis Massa, Lola Ponce met producer Oscar Mediavilla in 1999. She secured a recording contract with Mediavilla and began working with musician Joaqun Galán on her debut album as a singer.
‘Inalcanzable,’ her debut studio album, was released in 2001 and was produced by Mediavilla and Galán and recorded in Los Angeles. For the record, she collaborated with musicians such as Abraham Laboriel, Michael Thompson, and Lex Acua, and performed in the music video alongside Argentine actor Mariano Martinez.
She moved to Rome, Italy, in 2004 and published her second album, ‘Fearless,’ which was also her first in English. With the CD, she received critical recognition in Europe and was invited to sing at the Sanremo Music Festival as one of the foreign guests.
At the 2008 Sanremo Music Festival, she won for her performance with Italian singer Gi Di Tonno of the Gianna Nannini song “Colpo di fulmine.” She released her third album, ‘Il diario di Lola,’ later that year and toured Italy with Gio di Tonno on the Perdutamente Noi Live Tour.
She played in the Latin American Festival in Milan in June 2009. She also recorded the song ‘I know’ for the soundtrack of the Italian version of Disney’s ‘The Sleeping Beauty’ for a special 50th anniversary edition, alongside Gio di Tonno.
In late 2011, she collaborated with Argentine tenor Eduardo Bosio on the duet “It does not reach my heart.” She released her fourth album, ‘Lola,’ on December 15, for which she also authored the lyrics.
During the ‘Long Beach Gay Parade’ in Los Angeles in May 2012, she debuted her newest track, ‘Coqueta.’ She worked on the album with Aarón Daz, a Mexican actor and singer who subsequently became her husband. In August 2012, she released the duet ‘Momento perfecto’ with Argentine artist Nico Zuvira.
Career as a model
She began marketing the hairstylist Cool Cuts in 2009, and she did so until 2011. She became the face of the Miss Bikini Original in 2010, and as a result, she became a fashion designer with her own bikini line, ‘With Love. Lola.’
During the 2010-11 advertising campaigns, she also represented the lingerie company Selu. In 2011, she was the face of the Italian sportswear label VIP on Board. Clizia Incorvaia, an Italian model, helped her launch the apparel company ‘Girls Speak.’

She began dating her ‘El Talisman’ co-star Aarón Daz in 2012. On February 27, 2013, she gave birth to her first child, a girl named Erin Daz. Regina, their second daughter, was born on August 16, 2014. In June 2015, the pair married in a private ceremony in Morocco.
