Career of Birdman

In 1998, DJ/producer Mannie Fresh and Birdman founded the group Big Tymers. The group’s first album, How Ya Luv That, was released in 1998. The albums “I Got That Work” and “Hood Rich” were then released in 2000 and 2002, respectively. Soon after, Birdman released his debut studio album as a solo artist, simply titled “Birdman.” After Fresh quit the group in 2005, Big Tymers disbanded.

On June 21, 2005, Birdman released his second studio album as a solo artist called “Fast Money.” The next year, Lil Wayne and Birdman worked together on the album “Like Father, Like Son.” Two singles from the album, titled “Stuntin’ Like My Daddy” and “Leather So Soft” were gold-certified songs. Birdman got involved in robberies and drug theft while residing in the violent Magnolia Projects. He was detained for marijuana possession when he was 18 and received a three-year term at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Facility.
