Jamie Grace Harper is an American contemporary Christian musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actress who has been nominated for a Grammy award. As a young child performing in church and at school, she started her career in singing and acting. She resolved to pursue a career in acting and music as she grew more serious about performing arts. She started posting videos of her songs on her YouTube page when she was around 15 years old, and over time, producers and record labels began to take notice. She was cast in the television program iShine and later went on tour with iShine LIVE thanks to her early success. TobyMac soon became interested in her music on YouTube and signed her to his Gotee Records label for a number of albums. Early Childhood & Life

She was born on November 25, 1991, in Los Angeles, California, to pastors of Kingdom City Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia, Bishop James Henry Harper and Mona Nanette Harper (née Tellis).

American Christian musician, composer, gospel music recording artist, and guitarist Morgan Harper Nichols is her older sister. The sisters were raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and both received their education at home. As children, they used to sing and play instruments at church and at school.

Jamie graduated from Point University with a bachelor’s degree in children’s ministry. Her obsessive-compulsive disorder and Tourette Syndrome were both identified when she was eleven years old. In her adolescent years, she established ImAFighter.org to encourage and assist youngsters with Tourette syndrome and to increase awareness of the condition. She eventually established the Jamie Grace Foundation and its add-on LoveWill.net.

Jamie Grace’s Career

On August 3, 2007, she started uploading videos of her songs on her YouTube account. With time, producers and record labels began taking notice of the videos, and at the age of 17, she managed to land an acting and singing role with the international Christian broadcast TV network TBN’s iShine KNECT show. She then began touring with iShine LIVE and the Pop/Hip Hop CD she self-produced.

She was discovered in 2010 by Christian hip-hop recording artist, author, songwriter, and music producer Toby Mac. Later that year, she signed with TobyMac’s record label, Gotee Records. The first EP by Jamie, titled “Hold Me,” was produced by TobyMac and released on February 22, 2011, through his Gotee Records. Jamie gained considerable exposure thanks to the success of the album’s title track, which features TobyMac. The song was played on Christian Hit Radio stations.

The album “Hold Me” also included the songs “Into Jesus” (a cover by DC Talk), “One Song at a Time” (with GabeReal of DiverseCity), and “Holding On” (Lo-fi Version). Jamie’s music has a distinctive sound. She creates a distinctive style by fusing pop, folk, and hip-hop musical elements. Some of her songs feature guest vocalists, including GabeReal in “One Song at a Time” and TobyMac in “Hold Me.”

On May 4, 2011, Jesus Freak Hideout announced that Jamie’s debut single, “Hold Me,” had reached No. 1 on CHR. Her Grammy Award nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song came from the song in 2012. Additionally, she received three nominations for the 2012 Dove Awards before taking home the trophy for New Artist of the Year.

The song “Hold Me” was included on Jamie’s debut album, “One Song at a Time,” which was made available through Gotee Records on September 20, 2011. The 11-track album received generally favorable reviews from critics and reached its top position of #4 on the US Christian Albums (Billboard) list, becoming the 84th most popular album in the US. It received a nomination for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year at the 2012 Dove Awards.

She created “Christmas Together,” her second EP, which Gotee Records released on November 29, 2011. Christmas Together, Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late), O Come, O Come Emmanuel, and What Child Is This? are among the EP’s songs.

Jamie ventured into acting while pursuing her music goals. She portrayed Rachel in the Christian musical drama film “Grace Unplugged,” which was released on October 4, 2013, and also starred AJ Michalka, Kevin Pollak, and James Denton. She then appeared in the drama, sci-fi, and thriller film “Rumors of Wars,” which was released on May 2.

On January 28, 2014, Gotee Records released “Ready to Fly,” the outstanding singer’s second studio album. The album, which was produced by Christopher Stevens and David Garcia, has 14 songs, including “Just a Friend,” “White Boots,” and “Fighter (Acoustic) – Bonus Track,” all of which feature Jose “Manwell” Reyes.

The critically acclaimed album “Ready to Fly” peaked at #3 on the US Billboard Christian Albums chart and at #32 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

2015 was the 20th anniversary of the Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, the largest annual Christian music tour in the US that was started by the American contemporary Christian music group “NewSong.” The tour that year was split into an East Coast tour and a West Coast tour. From November 6 through November 16 of that year, Jamie continued to take part in the West Coast tour.

In August 2016, Jamie and her sister issued an announcement regarding her departure from Gotee Records. When Jamie performed a cover of Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” during an Adele concert that year, the English singer and songwriter Adele lauded Jamie’s voice.

On November 25, 2016, the day before her 25th birthday, Jamie released the song “Party Like a Princess” to the majority of the top streaming sites. It was also used to promote her upcoming third studio album as a promotional single.

The Happy Song, the opening track of her third studio album, was made available on April 21, 2017. She announced the title and release date of her third album as “91” on July 11, 2017, while live streaming on YouTube. On July 21 of the same year, she posted the album’s second single, “Daughter of a King,” on YouTube. ’91 came out on time and quickly rose to the top of the Christian & Gospel charts.

She took part in the Revolve Tour organized by the Christian live events company “Women of Faith” and continued to serve as a keynote speaker. She began her career on YouTube, where she now claims more than 266K subscribers and over 87M views on her channel. She is also well-known on other social media sites, such as Twitter (where she has more than 210 thousand followers) and Instagram (where she has more than 281 thousand followers).
