Kroy Biermann was an outstanding athlete at the University of Montana. He appeared in 52 games for the team, racking up 220 tackles and 32 sacks (the second-most in the school history). Kroy Biermann was drafted in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. In a Week 13 matchup against the San Diego Chargers, he recorded his first career sack. On November 2, 2009, Biermann scored his first NFL touchdown against the New Orleans Saints in a night game.

Atlanta Falcons offered him a new deal after he led the Falcons defense during the 2014 season. Biermann concluded the 2015 season with 2.5 sacks, 55 tackles, and one forced fumble.
