Mali-koa Hood is an Australian singer-songwriter who, along with Kylie Griffiths, forms the Deejay team Double Trouble. She is also a well-known stylist and beauty blogger. Hood, who was born into a multicultural household, had always been drawn to music and fashion. She started out as a vocalist in the neighborhood church choir and ultimately made it to the inaugural season of “The Voice Australia.” Even though she was ultimately booted off the show, it gave her enough exposure for her to continue music as a career. For a while, she was connected to the Sydney-based record company Surveillance Party. She worked with Neo Pitso on his song “Outlier” in 2013, and since then, she has established herself as one of the most promising musicians in both her country of origin and the UK, where she subsequently moved. Hood and Griffiths, who have known each other for a very long time, agreed to start a DJ group called Double Trouble in 2014. With 544 thousand and 274 thousand fans on Instagram and Twitter, respectively, Hood is a well-known social media personality. She uses her YouTube account for vlogging and providing fashion advice in addition to posting her music.

Mali’s Increased Reputation

Mali-koa Hood tried out for the inaugural season of “The Voice Australia” in 2012. She performed “American Boy” by Estelle during her blind audition, and she ultimately joined the band under the tutelage of Good Charlotte lead singer Joel Madden. Hood made her debut on episode four of the season, but she was ousted in the battle round after singing “What’s Up” by 4 Non-Blondes with Laura Bunting.

A combination of acoustic, folk, R&B, and soul is how Hood describes her style. After she was featured on ‘The Voice Australia,’ she gradually started to build up a fan base for herself. She collaborated with South African artist Neo Pitso on his song “Outlier” in 2013.

She then appeared in the dance/electronic songs “Filter Dreams” and “Home Planet” by Xan Müller in 2014 and 2015, respectively. More recently, she co-wrote the tune “Paint Me Black” with New Zealand rock musician Ben Hazlewood (2016).

Hood relocated to London in 2014, where she ran into Kylie Griffiths, a fashion director for Vice. They very quickly grew close. They decided to work together and created Double Trouble, a DJ collaboration they named after their shared passion for hanging out and music.

Since then, they have established themselves as a consistent presence in London’s nightlife and have performed at numerous events throughout the area, including the Reading Festival. The hood is well-known for his songs as well as his work as a stylist, vlogger, and fashion blogger. She once characterized her personal style as relaxed, enjoyable, cozy, and sexy, with perhaps a hint of awkwardness!

Mali-koa Hood was born in Sydney, Australia, on May 19, 1991. Her mother, Joy, is Maori, and her father, David Hood, is Scotch.
