Mexican football player Javier Hernández is a striker for West Ham United of the Premier League. Javier has been playing football at the junior club level since he was 7 years old. He was born and raised in Jalisco, Mexico. He was chosen for the national under-17 team at the age of 15, having just signed his first professional deal with a local club. He became the first-ever Mexican player to be chosen for one of the top “Premier League” teams when he was signed by Manchester United in July 2010. He had one of the greatest minutes-to-goal ratios in Premier League history while he was a member of “Manchester United.” However, he was cut from the team due to disagreements with the head coach and his declining play. After that, he joined the A-grade teams of Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid in the European League. He has been a striker for the English team “West Ham United” since 2017. In addition, he leads the Mexican national team in goals scored during international matches.

Childhood & Formative Years

On June 1, 1988, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Javier Hernández was born into a family consisting of Silvia Balcázar and Javier Gutiérrez. His family was involved in sports from birth. His grandfather and father were both former national players. His grandpa was a member of the Mexican national team that competed in the 1954 “FIFA World Cup,” and his father had played in the 1986 edition of the competition.

Javier came from a family of football addicts, so it was natural for him to develop an early passion for the game. Javier’s passion for football was heightened by the fact that his father coached the game at a few neighborhood teams.

At the age of five, he started receiving instruction. At the age of seven, he participated in his first-ever professional game. He participated in “Mexican Recreation League” play.
Javier was raised primarily in Morelia, where his father belonged to the “Monarcas Morelia” neighborhood club. At “Instituto Piaget,” where he finished his basic schooling, Javier began playing football for his school team.

By the age of nine, he was becoming well-known in regional competitions. When he was fifteen years old, he signed his first professional contract with the “CD Guadalajara” junior squad.

He studied business administration at “Universidad del Valle de Atemajac” in the interim. He was also chosen to play for Mexico in the “U-17 FIFA World Cup” in 2005, but he was unable to do so due to an untimely injury. That didn’t stop him from improving his abilities, though. By the time he graduated from college, he was well-liked.

Career of Javier Hernández

He started playing for the second-division team of a small Mexican club called “Chivas” in 2005. But he didn’t exactly play well in the early games. He once played in numerous games without scoring a goal.
When he participated in the ‘Apertura’ tournament in 2009 and finished the competition as the third-highest scorer, he made a strong return. In 2010, he carried on with a similar upbeat performance. He finished the 2010 “Torneo Bicentenario” event as the co-top scorer. In the 11 games he participated in, he scored 10 goals. The first five games he had not played.

To find some talented players, the “Manchester United” management team set out on a trip to Mexico towards the end of 2009. When they learned about Javier, they were generally impressed by his abilities. Nevertheless, Manchester was forced to wait to propose because they could not approach a player who was underage at the time due to his youth. Not long after making his senior “World Cup” debut, “Manchester United” made him a contract offer.

The 2010–2011 campaign was Javier’s “Manchester United” debut. Within the first eighteen minutes of his English club debut, he scored his first league goal. He made his competitive debut in August 2010 and ended up scoring a goal to secure the win over “Chelsea.” As he kept up his exceptional play, he was soon nominated for the “Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Young Player of the Year.”

He guided his squad to the “Champions League” finals, but they were unsuccessful in taking home the trophy. Still, he set a record by scoring 20 goals in his debut campaign. He was crowned the 2011 World Goalgetter in July.

He experienced a little setback on July 26, 2011, when he was injured in a New York training match. He was warned to exercise caution even though he was cleared the next day. He inked a new deal with “Manchester United” in October 2011 that would see him play for the team for the ensuing five years. He continuously scored well. He scored 12 goals for his squad in 36 games.

In terms of goal scoring, his third-season performance was better than his previous two seasons. That season, Javier made 36 appearances and scored 18 goals. He was already being praised as a star player and was proving to be a revelation for “Manchester United.”

But in the fourth season, he suffered a significant setback in his performance. During his 35-game stint with “Manchester,” he managed just 9 goals. He was loaned to “Real Madrid” with the option to give him away permanently due to his subpar performance. He returned to “Manchester” after the loan time ended because “Madrid” had declined to extend a contract to him.

After his Manchester United contract expired in August 2015, he signed with Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen. During the group stage of the Champions League, he scored five goals in six games. He was unable to advance his side in the knockout phase despite this. He was named the “Bundesliga Player of the Month” three times, which marked the happy conclusion to his first season in the “Bundesliga.”

His performance declined to average once more in the 2016–2017 campaign. In 36 games that season, he only managed 13 goals. After this subpar performance, ‘Bayer’ was forced to fire him. He then inked a contract with West Ham United, a “Premier League” squad.
With just 8 goals in 33 appearances during the 2017 season, he did not have a particularly outstanding season with “West Ham.”

He participated in the 2010 FIFA World Cup as a member of the national squad, making his “World Cup” debut. Since then, he has participated in every “FIFA World Cup” competition. As of right now, he stands as the all-time leading Mexican goal scorer on the international scene.
