Rapper and singer Elizabeth Eden Harris, well known by her stage name “Cupcakke,” hails from Chicago. Her crude lyrics and music videos propelled her to prominence. She was a Chicago native who was both born and raised. She was raised in homeless shelters for a few years after being born to a single mother. At the juvenile age of 10, her participation in social gatherings at a nearby church ignited her interest in music and poetry. One of her fellow churchgoers advised her when she was 13 to convert her poetry into rap music. She thought the concept was interesting, so at the age of 15, she posted her first music video, “Gold Digger,” to YouTube. The video almost quickly went viral. ‘Deepthroat’ and ‘Vagina,’ two of her tracks from 2015, became viral on various social media platforms. She became well-known for her coarse lyrics, but it didn’t stop her from wowing reviewers and audiences with her creativity. She has so far put out three studio albums, and a number of her singles have reached the top of different rap charts.

Early Childhood & Life

Elizabeth Eden Harris, the mother of Cupcakke, gave birth to her only child on May 31, 1997, in Chicago, Illinois. She was never introduced to her father, and shortly after she was born, her mother relocated to King Drive in Chicago with her. It was difficult for her mother to care for her small daughter because she was a single mother. The family’s financial situation was dire. The family lost their house soon after Elizabeth turned 7 and spent the ensuing four years either sleeping on the streets of Chicago or in homeless shelters.

She eventually got well though, and she started going to a nearby school. Elizabeth first met future rappers Lil Reese and Chief Keef in school. She soon learned about the rap music genre. Elizabeth also started going to the neighborhood church, where she joined the chorus. This influenced her musical taste and assisted her in honing her abilities.

She began writing poetry by the time she was ten years old. She made friends with a fellow churchgoer who was so moved by her poetry that she requested she makes them into rap songs. This gave her a lot to think about. She started writing rap songs after taking the suggestion to heart. She also began giving solo performances in church, wowing the pastors and other guests with her poems. She focused her writing on religion and Christianity.
When she was a teenager, she had already come across “YouTube.” She felt that ‘YouTube’ may be a fantastic venue for showcasing her music. She soon finished recording her debut song and became ready to step into the music industry.

Career of Cupcakke

She launched her own “YouTube” channel in August 2012 and posted the song “Gold Digger.” The song and its accompanying music video quickly became viral on social media. At just 15 years old, Cupcakke gained tremendous local popularity as a result. The song, meanwhile, also gave rise to some controversy. The song’s music video included some private moments that went against YouTube’s terms and guidelines. As a result, the music was taken off the platform.

Cupcakke, though, received the attention she wanted. She labored frantically during the following few years and put out a few more racy songs, which made her a notorious musician. She was still a minor and faced a lot of criticism from the right-wingers. Despite this, her music videos kept going viral, and by 2015, she had gathered over 300,000 subscribers on her “YouTube” channel.

‘YMCFilmz’ offered her a contract in 2015. She released a song titled “Vagina” in October. The song’s melodic inventiveness and audacity won fans despite the fact that it was very provocative. She added that Khia’s song “My Neck, My Back” served as the primary source of inspiration for the lyrics.

Another single by Cupcakke, titled “Deepthroat,” was released in November. She became a major indie star when “Deepthroat” and “Vagina” received a lot of “Facebook” and “Twitter” shares. She made the announcement that she was producing her debut mixtape in late 2015. The “Cum Cake” mixtape was released in February 2016. The tape also featured the hits “Tit for Tat,” “Juicy Coochie,” and “Pedophile.” Despite receiving a lot of “views,” YouTube kept taking down her singles because they contained explicit content and violated the terms and regulations of the service.

However, other sensitive reviewers gave the EP some positive comments, stating that despite some coarse lyrics, the album’s true core was found in the descriptions of the struggles of love and life. The song ‘Pedophile’ received accolades for its depiction of child sex abuse. It was claimed that the song heralded her triumphant entry into the Chicago rap scene.

Cupcakke’s second mixtape, “S.T.D (Shelters to Deltas),” was published in June 2016. Despite the album’s explicit songs, like “Best Dick Sucker” and “Doggy Style,” it was a success. The song was listed as one of the “Best Rap Albums of 2016 So Far” by “Rolling Stone.” She made the announcement that her debut studio album would be released later that year around the same time.

‘Audacious,’ Cupcakke’s first studio album, was released in October 2016 and had 12 tracks. Before the album’s formal release, the song “Picking Cotton” was made public. The rapper’s half-naked pose on the album’s cover caused controversy. Some of her other album singles, such “Cock a Doodle Doo” and “Keep Hoes Alive,” also had sexual names. Again, controversy notwithstanding, both her critics and her fans praised the album highly.
A few months later, she released ‘Cumshot,’ the lead single from her upcoming album, which was another single. ‘Queen Elizabitch,’ her second studio album, was released in March 2017. Cupcakke first demonstrated to her supporters that she could handle weightier subjects like political and social difficulties. The album received favorable reviews from critics, who noted that it had all the makings of a successful viral campaign.

Cupcakke released two new songs during the ensuing months, titled “Exit” and “Cartoons.” Later that year, she revealed via her Twitter account that her third album would be released in the first quarter of 2018. On January 5, 2018, the album titled “Ephorize” was made available. When it was first released, it was recognized as the rapper’s most mature effort and reached the top of the charts. Pitchfork named the record her “best album yet” and gave it the distinction of “Best New Music.”

Cupcakke created music videos for her tracks “Duck Duck Goose” and “Fullest” during the following few months. She was usually referred to as a fantastically original, fiercely outspoken, and plainly honest artist.

Individual Life of Cupcakke

Although Cupcakke has never been outspoken about her romantic relationships, some of her songs have suggested that she has experienced difficult breakups in the past.
Her song “Deepthroat,” which was taken down from YouTube, sparked more controversy when it was discovered that it was available on multiple adult websites.
