Giada Pamela De Laurentiis is an American chef, TV personality, and author of Italian descent. She is well-known as the presenter of the Food Network program Giada at Home. This program has garnered her two Emmy Award nominations and a Gracie Award. Laurentiis is a native of Rome. She relocated to the United States as a child. Initially, she worked as a caterer in several Los Angeles restaurants. After concluding her education, Giada de Laurentiis worked in a number of Los Angeles restaurants. She subsequently founded her own catering company, GDL Foods, and attracted notable clients such as director Ron Howard. She simultaneously worked as a culinary stylist.

An acquaintance at ‘Food & Wine magazine requested that she write about her family’s Sunday meal traditions. After a Food Network executive read her article, she was invited to establish her own cooking show on the network. Laurentiis had never desired to be on camera, which is why she felt initially uneasy during the performance.

In 2014, she launched her first restaurant, GIADA, in Las Vegas, Nevada. It serves dishes such as linguine with lemon, focaccia with rosemary, and lemon flatbread. Additionally, there are vegan and gluten-free options.

She attended Los Angeles Marymount High School. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles. From 2003 until 2015, she was married to fashion designer Todd Thompson. Their one and only child was born on March 29, 2008. Following her divorce from Thompson, she began dating television producer Shane Farley.
