American singer Mara Justine appeared in Season 9 of the reality television program “America’s Got Talent.” The top 12 Final round is when she was ultimately eliminated. She performed Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway” during the first week of the semifinals, garnering a standing ovation from all the judges. Despite not placing in the top four, she won the Snapple Save by receiving more online votes than her rivals, which allowed her to advance to the finals.

She chose to sing Pink’s “Perfect” in the Top 12 Finals, earning yet another round of applause from the judges. The sound recording had a problem, though, and the performance had an echo that the audience at home could hear. This ultimately led to her being eliminated, despite her excellent performance.
