Nick Jonas is an American singer, actor, songwriter, and producer best known for being one-third of the American pop rock band the Jonas Brothers. At the age of seven, he had his Broadway debut, and at the age of ten, he co-wrote the song “Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)” with his father. ‘Columbia Records’ took note of the song, which helped him release his self-titled debut album. The ‘Jonas Brothers’ debut album, ‘It’s About Time,’ was a flop, but their second eponymous album gave them a breakthrough, and they went on to create two more albums. The band achieved worldwide fame and notoriety after appearing in two ‘Disney Channel Original Movies,’ namely ‘Camp Rock’ and ‘Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,’ as well as the ‘Disney Channel’ television series ‘JONAS.’ The ‘Jonas Brothers’ disbanded in 2013 due to creative and other disagreements. Meanwhile, Nick created his own band, ‘Nick Jonas & the Administration,’ and released popular albums such as ‘Nick Jonas’ and ‘Last Year Was Complicated,’ all of which charted on Billboard. ‘Safehouse Records,’ which he co-founded with ‘Hollywood Records’ and ‘Island Records,’ issued his second album.

Childhood and Adolescence

Nick Jonas was born in Dallas, Texas, to Paul Kevin Jonas and Denise Jonas on September 16, 1992. (nee Miller). His father is a singer and songwriter who worked as an ordained minister at an Assemblies of God congregation.
Jonas grew up with two elder brothers, Kevin and Joe, and a younger brother, Frankie, in Wyckoff, New Jersey. His mother, a musician and former sign language teacher, educated him at home.

Career of Nick Jonas

Although Jonas and his two older brothers were both musicians as children, his career started off by coincidence when he was discovered singing at a hair salon while his mother was getting her hair cut at the age of six. He landed on Broadway at the age of seven, portraying Tiny Tim in ‘A Christmas Carol’ opposite Frank Langella, thanks to a recommendation from a professional show business manager.

He went on to play replacement roles in other Broadway musicals such as ‘Annie Get Your Gun’ (2001) and ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (2002), among others. ‘Les Miserables’ (2010), ‘Hairspray’ (2011), and ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ (2012) were among his later theatrical performances (2012).

In 2002, he co-wrote the song ‘Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)’ with his father, which was included in the compilation album ‘Broadway’s Greatest Gifts: Carols for a Cure’, Vol. 4., and published the following year on ‘Christian Radio’ via ‘INO Records,’ marking his debut single.

‘Columbia Records’ took notice of the song, despite its lack of commercial success. Columbia and INO both signed him. On September 5, 2004, he released his eponymous debut studio album, ‘Nicholas Jonas,’ which had 11 songs, some of which he co-wrote with his father and others with his elder brothers, such as ‘Time for Me to Fly’ and ‘Please Be Mine.’

The president of ‘Columbia Records,’ Steve Greenberg, liked Jonas’ voice and the song ‘Please Be Mine,’ so he signed him and his elder brothers, Joe and Kevin, as a group to ‘Columbia Records,’ resulting in the establishment of the ‘Jonas Brothers’ band.

The first promotional tour for the Jonas Brothers’ upcoming album ‘It’s About Time’ began on November 5, 2005. After several delays, the album was finally released on August 8, 2006 by ‘Columbia Records.’ Meanwhile, the band released its debut single, ‘Mandy,’ on December 27, 2005; the second single off the album, a cover song titled ‘Year 3000,’ on March 16, 2006; and made multiple cameos on other ‘Disney Channel’ soundtracks.
‘Columbia Records’ dismissed the ‘Jonas Brothers’ off their roster immediately after they signed with ‘Hollywood Records.’

Their single, ‘S.O.S.,’ which was released on August 3, 2007, catapulted them to popularity. It was a tremendous hit in the United States, selling over 1.5 million copies and reaching number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

On May 2 of that year, the band began their second Disney Channel television series, dubbed ‘JONAS,’ which was eventually renamed ‘JONAS L.A.’ On October 3, 2010, it came to an end after two seasons.

The band released their fourth and final studio album, ‘Lines, Vines, and Trying Times,’ on June 16, 2009, which opened at number one on the Billboard 200 and sold 247,000 copies in its first week, but failed to equal the popularity of previous releases. On October 29, 2013, the group disbanded.
